ALSO, we will be releasing a version tomorrow that will let everyone register their VIN + allow folks who have been doing extra vehicles to register those VINs (even without access to the car)

 

Forgive the ignorance, but what's the advantage of 'registering' a VIN?

 

I'm hoping it'll allow me to pick up 04B33 calibration ID tunes since my initial purchase from OVtune was for the older 04B31.

 

it is going to be a requirement to use the software in the future.

Hi Matt, I sent a message through Zendesk a couple weeks ago advising you of an anomaly I discovered with my particular VFtuner software package as it relates to the credits usage.

I did not receive a response. Can you check Zendesk and get back to me?

 

I saw the ticket, and am aware of it. It's part of why we are moving to this required update.

 

Ok, so what do I do... I feel like the kid at the candy store who got a dollar in change for spending a dollar. Trying to do the right thing and be honest about all of this. Is there a reason why I never received a reply or acknowledgement ?

Additionally, I would like to register my tablet for use instead of the laptop I have been using... How do I go about that?

 

you are talking about the ticket about requiring using credits to flash right, if so the current system does not need credits to flash



download vF tuner to tablet, use same master key, same email, same username, same password, and register it

 

I am talking about when I first used VFtuner, I was under the impression that unlocking my ECU (04A61) would use 4 of the 5 credits that came with the software. Upon unlocking my ECU, the same 5 credits are still available in my system, as if none of the credits were used. If I am mistaken, and none of those 5 credits were supposed to be used on first run, then forgive my ignorance. I felt like I got away with something for nothing and didn't want to be "that guy".

 

That was a bug in an older version, are you on the newest version, 1.2.8.1? Just update and you're good.

 

Ok, I am going to have to send another request to support@zendesk. I am still on the first version I downloaded and used because I forgot my password.
The only reason I did not update is because I didn't want to get locked out for however long it took to have you reset my password or whatever that process looks like. I waited because I was looking for a response to my query regarding the credit(s) issue.

If it is simple to reset the password, then let me know and I will take care of all the necessary steps today (getting the tablet registered and getting on the latest version).

 

What section or parameter do i edit to make adjustments to the throttle sensitivity?

 

Updating won't 'log you out". Just install 1.2.8.1 over the current installation and you're good to go. Everything linked to you is kept, assuming you're using the same device.

 

Thanks brother, that was my point tho was that i'm NOT using the same device... I am trying to deploy my new tablet and have tried 3 times to install the newest version, and have since been locked out of the ability to use vFtuner on the tablet. I can still use it on the laptop, but with the previous version only.

 

I wasn't quite sure because you mentioned updating, which typically means you already have a working version, but then you also mentioned getting the tablet working. Unfortunately it sounds like you'll just have to wait for Mat to allow you to change and update your password.

 

I sent this request to OrangeVirus but I'm sure they're bombarded with emails so I'm asking here in the hopes someone has already run across this and knows a solution. I've already tuned my truck back in June of last year purchased VFTuner and the tune packs. I just went to try and flash a different tune and it's telling me I need to spend more credits to unlock the tune packs again... what the deal with this?

 

I went to the OVTune website and tried installing the most recent version of VFTuner and got this message. Should I just disable the virus protection for installation? Seems a little concerning none the less.

Yep! AV programs don’t like it but it’s fine. If you have Bitdefender on your laptop like I did then you might have to completely uninstall it to get VFT to work. Windows Defender at least let me allow the program but even it still occasionally needs me to re-authenticate it.
