It's 3 degrees and snowing here so I piled up some wood by the back door and lit a fire in the fireplace. There's a small bird, a Dark-eyed Junco to be exact, who keeps flying in and perching on the pile. Hobbes is excited.

Cats seem to be indifferent but I for one wish we'd get some damn winter weather for a change, warm winters mean early and wicked hot summers here

 

Dreading this summer for that exact reason. Fortunately we have a very mild climate where I live with our hottest days in the fall- Santa Ana season.

On high alert- stranger in the neighborhood. They’re great watch cats- especially Amos as he’ll start growling if it’s a person vs an animal of some kind

 

Munch is the only one of my three that will get agitated by an animal outside. He freaks out whenever the neighbors cat is in our yard. He could knock over furniture with how hard his tail is flailing about.

The other two DGAF.

 

Hobbes is mad at me because I dumped him off my lap to put another log on the fire...and get another beer.

 

Oh well, might as well take a nap.,

My 14 pounder Evey and her little sister Penny both on my lap.

 

14 lbs, that’s a nice welterweight!

 

She makes that 14lbs go far when she steps on my head every morning between 4-5am to wake me up to turn on the sink for her haha. I sleep like a brick so she found a way to get me up.

 

thats how they do it. Outsmart us every time. I’ve closed doors, slept under the covers, hid treats, etc. those fellas figure a way to become the alarm clock.

 

Our cat has recently decided she prefers to drink out of the sink. she could be passed out in the other room, and BAM there she is the second the faucet comes on. maybe because whiskers dont hit the side of the water bowl? No whisker ticklin at the faucet. theories on this ?

 

Our one cat loves the sink. Whenever l do the dishes, she hops up and gets onto the counter and leand into the sink to play with the water stream and to drink from it.
Some cats find the water stream fascinating I guess.
