Trouble is the Northstar battery (at least according to this thread and table on the first page) is a 27F and its still 20lbs heavier than stock.

But the real question is.... Is anyone using a fridge with a slide in the bed AND a bed cover? I want something to work with my Pace Edwards Switchblade

I don’t think there’s a fridge short enough to fit in a slide and still fit under a cover. They are fairly tight fit already even without the slide

Get an arb elements and you can leave it in the bed uncovered!

I have a dometic 35 in my back seat (could fit bigger but I don’t need it)

I have the GG Back seat delete in my dblcab, but i travel with 2 75lbs dogs, so no fridge will go back there lol.
I may do the smaller arb + slider without the jacket so i can get it in there. Need to do some final measurements before i pull the trigger, but that's my current plan

I do, it’s been in the bed for almost a year now, no issues at all.

DIY, I made it. Welded up the steel frame, and ordered the heavy duty slides from Amazon.

I put rivnuts in the bed and punched 4 holes in the bed mat, so the slide sits on the mat and bolts to the bed. The fridge is held onto the slide by a strap in front and rear (not pictured above). Quick and easy to take in and out as needed.

Removed one of the seats in our access cab and mounted a Dometic C25. It’s perfect for 2 adults for a couple nights.

Powered via fuse block in the bed that’s connected to a Jackery 1000 also mounted in the bed. 400w anytime mod charges the Jackery when in motion, 100w solar panel when camped.

I might have missed the thread but haven’t found info on a way to secure on truck bed from getting stolen since I don’t have a cover. I mean I know for sure I’ll be purchasing a slide but is there anyway to lock it so no one tries to take it? Oh I just purchase a 55im I’m just looking for ideas! Thanks everyone

I have an IndelB that I have run for about 5 years now. I ordered it from a place in Kentucky called Truckfridge. I got in on a GB a few years back here on TW and I paid $450 shipped for a 50QT. I love that fridge, it has become a staple of all of our trips no matter where we go. It has a low voltage cut off that you can set so if it sense the battery is getting low it will shut down. I have always run it on a single battery set up with zero issues. Camping trips where the fridge ran for 1-2 days without shutting off and without killing my battery. All of my vehicles have power run to the cargo areas directly off the battery. I put a 10A fuse in line on an 8g wire and zero issues. I have several friends with the same fridge just in smaller configurations and they bounce around in the rock buggies and F-Toys. No issues. One of my buddies over on T4R has one in his 4runner that he has rolled, multiple times on multiple occasions an the fridge stayed closed and still works like new. Obviously it's not a dometic but I also spent less on this than you could get a yeti for so I wasn't too upset.

Bingo. It seems like a large ice chest would be adequate for a 2-day camp. Finding yourself with a dead vehicle battery would do more to ruin your getaway than having to drink lukewarm beer.

If I had to use an electric fridge, I would look into a secondary battery or a solar power arrangement. But then it gets more complicated than it's worth.
