Snow bashing is fun as hell, but pretty tough on parts. Amazing where a well set up rig can go.

    :D

Ok, so did you have the shock fully extended when you set preload? And by setting preload, when collar touches the spring, that’s zero preload, and measure/adjust down 1” from there?

Reason I ask is I’ve never seen the coil adjustment nut that high on the body of the shock.

Ya that’s when I first installed them without setting preload I set them on my truck it was a long ways in a row boat if you know what I’m saying but now that nut is about 3/4 inch down I just didn’t want to lift my truck anymore than it is I didn’t go the full inch

Ok. Just checking. I was like “something doesn’t look right captain scooby!”

I had to swap out all my springs to get desired ride height. At first I had 200/250 and that was giving me 7.5” of down travel when I was shooting for 5.75” of chrome showing. Went with 150/200 and set N2 pressure at 160 psi...good to go.

Ya I put mine on stock out of box like that to make it easier to install then adjusted mine on my truck it was a pain but doable with all weight off em my spring rate is 250 over 300 got quite a bit of down travel also need to get limiter straps bad

Oh wow. Yeah, you have way to much spring. My Jeep is 5500 lbs, so it’s a heavy pig.

    Try using this:

    https://www.crawlpedia.com/spring_rate_calculator.htm

I seen so many people using “the same setup” and you just can’t do that. Unless it’s the same everything, hard to calculate.

Next time I will weigh my rig as well before dumping money into springs. I got really lucky. Moved my rear springs to the front and ordered PAC springs for the rear.

Ya I gave the dry weight of rig to WFO and they said this spring rate is the correct size for this application but it’s pretty soft as it is I was worried for a while until I drove it it’s actually really soft

    Valving time.

Here are some of the threads we put together on Tundras for reference.

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/shock-tuning.56944/

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/king-shock-rebuild-pic-heavy-get-beer-s.36345/

I have to redo my rear kings compression valving and slow it down. I to blow through my travel.

Just curious, I may have missed it, why did you guys go with radius arms vs a standard 3 link?

and I couldn’t fit a shock tower either. Ended up with shock “hoops” essentially

For me it’s only because Wfo said they would work, out of the box, as a complete kit. Mines a dedicated daily long before crazy crawler. So it seemed like a nice kit to buy that had mounts and geometry figured out. Finding more and more, that isn’t quite as I was hoping. But on the flip side everyone seems to like the road manners and capabilities of the kit once done.
I talked to Tyler at Wfo, and they said the towers are designed for d44 kits and that they will work if you make them essentially. And guys like potter have definitely made them work fine.

I went with them due to being a kit that is designed for the application and after seeing lildooskis truck perform I don’t see why not I don’t go to flex competitions or care about crazy flex I’m simple just do snow wheeling and use it for hunting season everything I have used it for has more than satisfied me if I was going on rubicon trail or king of hammers and such I would of 3 linked front for flex but the design with the radius arms mounting direct to the axle and how this thing drives it’s amazing I drive it 60 miles from my house to the blue mountains to wheel it’s like driving my brand new truck
