How do you know? Since they are very popular at the price point, and most people seem to agree they add a nice level and don't hurt the ride too bad. For offroading I agree they aren't the best, but prob not meant for that

5100’s are great ask how I know. IMO great budget lift. Some don’t like them DGAF. IMO that’s why they have so many lifts to choose from. But wait we always have to hear from the experts :anonymous: how bad of a choice we made. :poking:

I assume he just had a bad experience with them and put him off to them. Same as with me and my F150 I had even though its literally the most popular truck. I didn't like it after my experience but theres a reason its so popular

Do not use your lift to "fit" bigger tires! Remember your suspension compresses, so you gotta make it fit no matter where your suspension is.

That’s 2.5, right? I set mine on the second because I have a steel bumper.

I have Eibachs. They are an improvement over the stock OR suspension in every way.

I've been looking at lifts and I think I am going to go with the OME 2" lift. 886 (heavy springs) for the front with a bumper and winch and medium for the rear (cap installed). Not a huge lift, so no diff drop. can still use factory UCA. And dont' have to rebuild every 40k. Close to stock ride quality with lift...

Something to keep in mind is the long term goal of the truck. If you're only looking for a lift and wheels/tires the decision is easier, but if you plan to add weight keep that in mind with picking spring rate/damping, etc.

i dont intend on adding a lot of weight to the truck, i only carry a dirtbikes in the summer. My goal is to have a pre runner style taco that is more for high speed gravel dirt roads. I would love a long travel kit but would be overkill for what i need. A good mid travel suspension with a fair amount of down travel would be nice

I second what @R3b3lSon82 said, Dobinsons.

Talk to @Crikeymike at Exitoffroad. A number of people here have Dobinsons suspension and like it. Explain your needs and he will give you his suggestions.
