His pics show a date of 01/21 and the battery looks brand new. It's doubtful the battery.

In my experience the solenoid attached the starter fails before the starter does. Do you have alligator clips and wire? I would try to bypass the solenoid first before pulling the starter.

Although on this motor I don't know if you can get the solenoid off to change with the starter still attached

He's a baller on a budget, he can't be going around throwing benjis at parts. The cost of the battery was bad enough for him

Sanding down contact points didn't fix it either. They weren't too bad to begin with but ruling it all out.

Legit truck just wouldn't start after driving it all around yesterday

Have you tried taking whatever lights you have on the truck off and tried cranking it just with regular hot and ground on?

My keep wouldn’t start and I unhook the light bar then it started

That sounds to me like either the solenoid isn't getting power, or the solenoid is jammed up.

Yeaaa, battery would be lots of clicks. You can always pull the starter and have it tested

That could be a poor connection to the bat, or the solenoid is just pulling the voltage down.

I'd find the solenoid on the starter and give it a few convincing whacks

Take the starter off the truck and test it with jumper cables to see if the bendix retracts and spins. Take it to AutoZone and have them test it too.

This is actually how I found out my Supercharger was seized from the paper towels. My starter was fine, I thought it was going bad because the engine would crank slowly. I bench tested the starter and it spun fine, and AutoZone told me it was fine too so I looked elsewhere.

@Das it mang I agree with @JKO1998 and @BartMaster1234 about pulling the starter and having autozone test it since you don't have the tools to test it yourself.

The single dull thud sounds like the solenoid is jamming up, or the bendix is seized. Which would explain the dimming clock light from the extra amperage it's trying to pull. If it was connection related you'd here more of a click not a thud.

I'm with @xtremewlr and my money is on the solenoid. Buy a rebuild kit to go along with it if it's priced okay for you. Better to freshen everything up with it out of the truck
