Benefit of being 5 lug is I could reach the top bolt from the engine bay

 

Starter on the 4 bangers is way easier than the starter on the v6 models. BTW make sure you're battery is unhooked cause the positive wire to the starter is always live.

 

Parts store starter that came on my flatbed was fine but the bendix thing wouldn’t retract when spinning. It happened suddenly in the driveway one day. Now it’s running a 1.8kWh starter from my 4Runner that has worn teeth on the gear. Wonder if I could swap them over from the other starter...
