3" lift on 33 inch Nitto's with 18" Fuel wheels. N-Fab step bars. Husky floor liners.
Just how big is this boat you speak of and how far will you be pulling it. Short distances no big deal with any lift but those long distances trips to the lake could be a struggle. I am not here to get in a pissing contest between 3G and 2G towing capacity because honestly they both suck at that. I tow a 21' Skeeter with my 2G and its a struggle on long trips. If you have a long incline you will run more RPM's and lose power. When mine was stock it pulled a lot better than it did after I went 3" 33's. Just my experience.

This truck will only pull my duck hunting boat (16ft aluminum). My Yukon will be used for my larger fiberglass boat (21' Robalo).

Well then you got it covered. Have as much fun with it as your wallet allows man. Do what you want with it and not what others think you should do with it. No regrets later..

Most people on this site haven’t got a clue about anything bigger than 2 inches (lol). In all seriousness I really don’t understand where this notion of crappy ride quality when on a 6” lift comes from. I’m sitting on 7.5” of lift with fox 2.5 with resis up front, JBA UCAs and fox 2.0 rears and OME HD leaf springs and a 2.5” block.

I'm with ya Car Ram Rod. Looks great and I'm old school and like um high. If I didn't tow my big ass heavy bass boat 3 or 4 days a week I would be up there with ya.

Personally I think a 6” lift is too aggressive for a taco, but that’s just me.

6 inch Douche Bag lift...what else do I need?
6 inch lifts aren't for everyone......They have there own unique issues just like any suspension modification will but they are quite functional on the trail.

Honestly, the second I read it, I could tell you havent put a lot of thought or research into it. I’m currently in the market for a 3rd gen. I’ve been doing endless research for every move I’m going to make on said truck. Within about .5 seconds of researching the lift question, it was very clear 2.5-maybe 3” was the answer.

All that said, this is a tough crowd when asking particular questions. They’ll bash ya for asking about a 6” lift, but then act like riding around with 600lbs of gear in the bed, they use 1-2 times a year, is perfectly normal.

In closing, my best friend had a 6” on his. The ride quality was like a truck. It wasn’t dreadful by any means, but it wasn’t floating on a cloud. It needed a regear bad, but did just fine with the ECT engaged. It was somewhat aggravating to get into, even with the AMP steps... and being it’s size it wasn’t necessarily a pleasure to ride around in town. But it was a killer looking rig. Different strokes for different folks.

And for what it’s worth, he did do it strictly for looks and nothing else. I feel like that needed to be said.

6" of lift can be done nicely and ride great, but it costs a good chunk of change to achieve it. A cheap 6" lift which sounds like what OP is planning to do, will ride shitty and won't perform off-road well. 6" lifts will look weird with small tires, I would say 35s minimum with that amount of lift, and then you have the costs of re-gearing and the cost of the tires themselves. 3" of SUSPENSION lift (such as Bilstein 6112s) will give you better on and off-road performance, the looks, and better reliability than a 6" non-suspension lift (spacers, blocks, etc.). It also will look great with 33" tires, doesn't need a re-gear, and while it would definitely benefit from aftermarket UCAs, it isn't a 100% necessity.

I imagine there are 6 in trucks that ride awesome and do great on the trail. But some serious engineering and money got to be put down. You never want to half ass what could save your life.;)
6 in is I imagine way easier to lift to in 2wd, don't have to worry about CV angles, or swapping to solid axle if going nuts.
It's just that for me, for the money you can't beat some basic small upgrades to help with daily driveability. I always rack up the miles quick, I would go broke with a highly modded truck.
