    But it’s not a full floater... I guess you have a cage so you’re not too worried when the wheel rips off :)

    Seriously though, do it right and you will thank me later. The cost will probably be about the same by the time you get done making the tundra axle work with the correct lug pattern

    You can get a ford 9" in pretty much what ever configuration you'd like, including able to take a 10" RG. There is also the D60 if you choose that route will just be a little more limited on gear ratio choices.

    What would be some reputable brands? Or is it something that you'd just need to find a shop that builds custom housings?

    East coast gear supply, currie, spydertrax, and 1000s more. I know I'm missing quite a few more. You can also buy a complete housing and source parts from where and how you want. If the AR is the lego kit of the gun world the ford 9" is the lego of rear diffs. You can order axles that get cut to length, housings that you cut down and weld ends on for full floater or big bearing style. all sorts of goodies it's almost limitless.

    That’s what I would do! 9” full float, imho, way better application for a Taco than the Tundra 10.5

    Right, it's just that every time I look up F9's it seems they're always semi-float :confused:

    You either have to spec it out there are drop down options on most suppliers websites for the full float option or just build it yourself get the full float ends and weld them on.

    F9 is a Currie specific axle. We build full floaters using all the speed way stuff

    Every time I tried pricing out or piecing together anything with the 9” it was 6k and up by the time it would be all said and done. Looking at being about $3-3.5k for the tundra swap with the one I found. I know it isn’t full float, but figured the size increase would keep me a pretty good safety factor

    If you have time to enlighten me some more or help price things out better than what I’ve said, I’m all ears. Ordered the tundra axle yesterday but it probably won’t ship for a few days I’d imagine if convinced to cancel and go with a 9”.

    Nope. Currie had a Tacoma “drop in” f9 axle for a while but it doesn’t seem like they make it anymore from my searching the last few days. They had some special tone rings manufactured that kept them I believe. Not sure about the D60 “drop in” from ECGS

    TRD S/C, UCON, 61# inj, 2.5 pulley, 7th inj, Roostfactor Y Pipe, URD exhaust, WAT Nomad Valve body, Dana 60, DK LT, JD FAB LCA mounts, custom roof rack...and way too many others.
    My only issue with my Dana 60 from ECGS is that its more difficult to truss properly with links. If you're ever going to go links, I would recommend the 9". A traditional top mounted truss would limit my up travel before hitting the cab. However, I do like the OX locker option on the dana 60.

    Ah shoot didn’t see arb on the cheaper one. Still gonna be up over $5k after shipping and tax. Plus you’re stuck with an air locker or full time like a Detroit with the 9”. No other selectables that I’ve seen

    I do like the ox locker. Not a fan of air lockers as I’ve seen too many issues with leaks and failures
