Yeah that's what l was afraid of after seeing the pic, maybe a nice metal bumper will be a nice upgrade in the future.

It’s actually colder in Dallas than it is here, and it’s colder in Oklahoma City than it is in Dallas!

It’s always comfy in Florida, except during hurricane season...

Yup, 05 truck here, mine rusted thru just under the handle. Got a new one installed a few years ago.

That sucks Charlie. For having such a clean and well taken care of 5 lug, this is unfortunate.

Might look on some auto salvage networks and get lucky with a factory painted silver tailgate.

My 06 is rusting at the bottom of the tailgate. I took the inner cover off, sprayed it down with rust converter, looks like it worked. I'm not going to put another tailgate on it. Maybe a thief will see it, and move on.

Did you recently transport any chemicals?

I see a lot of pool care guys in Tacoma's with their frame spotless and their tailgates and rear bumper completely obliterated by rust due to the oxidizers, salts, and other pool chemicals.

But they like the FRC beds because they're rust proof.

    I ended up with this...

Currently trying to contact the company, but I think it’s gonna be a lost cause and I’m gonna have to dispute the the charges...

    Stay away from Cdzshop.fans!

It's too late for the OP but If you spray(when newer) through the drain holes, aerosol cable and chain lube it will prevent this. That stuff will creep into seams, not run too much and is cheap. It also doesn't have much of an odor. I also used it in the rockers and door bottoms.

I just repainted my tailgate, I hauled a ton of softener salt for a while which got it.
But I'm a crappy super white and just used some rattle cans from menards, matched pretty well. Most people wouldn't notice.
Depends where else its rusted inside and if you can see it outside, maybe you can sand and save? Otherwise another one would be best.
