Picked up this used 4 piece aluminum custom made bed height bed rack. One side needs to get welded back to the bar.

I’ve always hated the anytime I use my tailgater soaker (windshield sprays), or any sort of water is hit with the wipers, it always finds its way into my driver’s side window. It’s like they channel the water there on purpose.

    Things to look out for:
    1. If you start to hear a grinding
    2. If when you lift up your truck and you can jiggle the wheel up or down or side to side.

    Doing it yourself:
    1. Make sure you have the right tools ahead of time.
    2. Doing with just one person can be done but having a buddy help is better.
    3. This is what I followed and it worked out well.

    Mounted the knockoff Maxtrax.
Unfortunately the bars don’t line up perfectly to their mounting holes, so I drilled some aluminum flat bar and “made a mount”. And of course, locked em up.

Wired up my BD S2 ditches today. I also swapped out the stock reverse light bulbs for some Osram 35w 860 lumen bulbs. Now I can actually see what's behind me when backing up.

Info on the backup sensors in your bumper. What did you use to cut the holes in the chrome bumper for the sensors and the led lights?

The back up sensors were on the truck when i got it. I did pull them out before and looks like a straight cut with a hole saw. As for the auxiliary back up lights, they were cut out with a dremel. Drilled a hole in each corner and used reinforced cut off wheels. A metal file to clean up the edges. Wasn't hard at all.

Ive got a 2012 Dbl cab 72k miles. Haven't replaced much of anything, and never took it to a dealer.

A few weeks ago I threw a 'check engine light' and a 'traction control light'. Pulled the code and found some luck on here claming it could be emissions related and may be covered. I took it to the local dealer. It was fully covered under 8year/80k mile warranty on emissions as well as a recall. It was the air pump and switching valves. While there they ordered me the frame treatment kit being offered, since my frame deemed it was time. After bringing it back in a week later to have the frame treated, they found a hole. They ordered the new frame, with it being delivered in a few more weeks. Said it should at bare minimum have hardware, brake lines, etc. Service manager said I should be able to get any new parts I would like, or the service tech find are needed at cost, with either no/low labour costs for most things.

Wondering at this stage, which parts on a 2012 with 72k miles should I start replacing, or upgrading.

    Thanks!

Man... I am so glad I don't live back East. Why are you guys still using salt on your roads? I have vehicles here that only have surface rust on their frames and they've been in a junk yard for decades.

In my opinion, I didn't even think the frame needed to be treated, doesn't have much surface rust. They said the found a small hole. Ohh well.

Considering how thin and light the frames are on these Tacos it's amazing we get away with four wheeling them at all.
    And then rust through???
