It only comes from experience; I've dealt with many an aftermarket alarm in my day with the end result being....rip it all out.

 

I've got one of those dealer installed Karr alarms that I'm always worried might shit the bed on me one day

 

Let's rip it out when we install my UCA's

 

Can you imagine driving on snow and ice with a bias-ply tire like this? I guess people put on tire chains in those days. Tires have come a long way.

Shame to see it from a dealer too. All it took was spinning the wire and throwing a crimp cap on it. Alarms good otherwise, has a built in gps and stuff but doesn't work if not wired right haha
