right. Kinda the point! But, preparation is like trimming trees.... costs profits. You have a system that can't handle 100% of predicted load, and no safety factor. That's faulty Engineering and planning. They are failing at 50% or less.

That's rough man. I can handle hot all day long but this cold stuff is kicking my butt. So now I'm looking at generators and putting a fire place in my house.

Spent the last 4 hours doing plumbing, 3 hose bibs on the house were frozen and they were wrapped and with bib covers, the 1 on the garage the pipe broke and the neighbors are out of town, and I fixed 1 bib in their front pasture.

Turned on propane heaters in the shop and melted 50% of the snow on the roof. Fired up the camp stove in attached garage, opened attic door and got about 40% of the snow on the house roof melted.

    Drank beers.

Glad to say my cover and drip efforts only had the one pipe at the garage frozen. Heat gun, then ragged up and 3 slow buckets of hot water, and I had a stream again! Turned it up more, wrapped, wrapped, tie wrapped, and then stuck some cardboard over as a wind break! I did drink a beer while shoveling, because I wanted to make sure they weren't frozen. I turned off the frig, and it started to defrost! So, it's back on. Don't want warm beer.

    Nice.

I used the weed burner up against the bricks, then ran the facets for a few minutes then I waited until everything was dry before I wrapped them up again.

As of last night no. Not sure about tonight. They didn't need the extra help tonight, I'm assuming on lack of materials. But we are out there being dilligent. One of our guys got into a bad accident on the way home after his shift.

Evening gents, I see a few of y'all had a rough day, I hope everyone is staying safe and as warm as y'all can be. If y'all lived in town I would offer y'all a room. I guess having frozen pipes most of the day pales in comparison to others. We've been fortunate and blessed to have power all day. Not sure if the rolling black out will eventually hit us but we've been lucky and Blessed so far. Finally had running water a little after 5. Everything is wrapped extra well tonight and I have a couple of faucets dripping:fingerscrossed:. Gotta get back to work tomorrow night and I'm not looking forward to that. All the emails I've read and text with my fellow coworkers are not that great. We have one plant down and the other is holding on as best it can.

Anyways gonna try to enjoy tonight with my wife as I may be staying at work for a couple of days, we'll see. Gonna try to do my best to keep them lights on for the ones who have power. Y'all have a good night gents, try to stay warm.

Thanks for your hard work Danny! I thought I mentioned earlier, but then I didn't see. And goes for ALL of you with "modern" slab homes. Find the furthest tap from your heater, and run a little stream of hot water all the time. Forces a tiny drain on the heater so it will still be close to warm on demand, and keeps a tiny flow in your pipes!

    Evening y’all

well power went out around 2 Am, went and wrapped the pool equipment to help protect it. Power came on for about 30 min around 1pm then was out for the day. We lit the fireplace outside and roasted some hot dogs on a stiiick. :D

Finally came in and sat in the couch for a spell , then went to sleep. Woke up just before 9 and heard the heater on in the house. Got up and started checking things. Made the water well kick in, checked it nothing busted. Checked for hot water, we have it, tg. Opened the door and the pool was running :bananadance:.....Put a hair dryer By it as earlier today it would not turn on, was trying but it was frozen. Turned the hair dryer off and came inside, prepped coffee for the morning. Catching up with today’s gossip, oh and cell service is still out.
