I really can't complain about the 1st or 3rd. Marino deflected the 1st one opposite direction and Geno with a ridiculous lack of effort on the 3rd. The 2nd maybe on him for pushing it back out in the slot. I agree Casey has been better this year but it's probably better for the Pens if Jarry ends up being the starter. It's really too early to panic or bail on your starter.

I do agree they have to get Jarry going at some point. If he continues to struggle, then a shortened season may not be the time to do so. Malkin's laissez faire attitude on that 3rd goal was terrible. Of all the old stars on the team, he looks like he has aged the most. Letang makes stupid decisions, but he can skate. Malkin? He just looks like he has little to offer at an NHL level.

Ya I would agree with everything you posted there.

MAF looked good, for sure. But for real, Vegas is just a wagon of a team. They really have no weakness. I feel like they have the best mix of everything. They can win tight games, low scoring, high scoring, physical, etc. Pretty much however you want to play it. Plus when healthy, 2-No1 tenders.

I just heard the local sportscaster guy say that the Penguins are the most watched (viewed) franchise when it comes to the local market. I don't know if that includes the markets in Canada. People here sure do love their Pens, even if they ain't what they used to be.

    Better GAA and SV%.

This. Season is too short this year to give time to a struggling goalie.
Jarry has been out of position on simple saves, and is leaving to many pucks out in bad spots.

Desmith was sick yesterday, i bet he would have started if available.

I understand that but what I'm saying is Desmith is not a starter, long term. Jarry has pedigree to be a number 1 and played pretty well last year. If Jarry is a bust, thats not going to be good for the Pens long term. That is my point. I realize Desmith is currently playing better, but Sulli needs to walk the line of getting Desmith the net as the hot hand but also try to get Jarry to come around. And yesterday i had no issues with his game, overall.

How TF does Ottawa come back on the Leafs, from 5-1?

not really...it is the Jackets....and Reimer was the rebound king for a lot of the game....we are just not good enough to capitalize on that...

The Laughs allowed something like 20 shots inside the danger area tonight. They got up by three and collapsed. Definitely not a good outing.

We gave up nothing for him. Actually, look at how the Leafs made the move. They let him clear waivers, then trade two "dead" contracts to Carolina for him.

Plus this let's them stick Engvall on waivers and watch him disappear. Supposedly Keefe doesn't like him, or at least doesn't see him on his Leafs as it sits, but he was the best 3rd/4th line flex option they had on the taxi squad. With Galchenyuk they now have a cheaper option in that spot.

All the clowns saying Nate Schmidt was an upgrade on Chris Tanev obviously didn't watch a single Canucks game in the last 10 years

Galchenyuk has played for half the league, in the past 2 years. He's not terrible though.

Also, North division >. I know i said it the other day, but these games are wild. By far the most entertaining. Jets/Oil was great. I feel like that whole division plays a bit loose, but it's fun to watch. Every game is wide open and fast.

Galchenyuk is almost like the bonus piece in the equation, if Dubas is actually looking at another trade where he ends up sending picks for bodies which will have contracts. It feels like this was a move to free up one more contract spot and possibly two. I'm guessing Dubas is trying to pull off something else that needs the contract roster space.

I agree DeSmith is not the long term answer and Jarry has to be given a chance to prove himself as the #1. Still, in this shortened season, if he continues to struggle, he may have to take a back seat this season if the Pens want to make the playoffs. They have played 13 of 56, so just about a quarter of the season and they currently sit in 5th place, out of the playoffs. Crosby, Malkin and Letang aren't getting any younger. While their save % isn't much different, DeSmith is giving up just about a goal less per game. I want to see Jarry get going but right now, he has a losing record and that won't get the Pens into the playoffs.

Lol that is a perfect way to put it. I agree.

Ya I agree. That's why I said Sulli needs to balance that out, but if Jarry plays decent, I think you gotta go back to him to try and get him going. And I didn't see anything on Sunday that would keep me from playing him again (even if Desmith were not sick.) Worst case scenario you try to pick up a veteran in a trade but it would be nice to not have to make that move.
