Huracan fabrication. They’re an Australian company but have a US hub as well.

Am I the only one that thinks stuff will just tumble around back there and you'll have weather proofing issues? Not to be a negative Nancy, but... If you really need the space, you have an entire truck bed to hold a toolbox.

I’ll be buying it for sure. I’m all for maxing my storage options.

I recommend going to YouTube or their website to get a better understanding of the product.

Same thoughts. If it had compartments like it looked like maybe would work better. I dunno tho. The bed is pretty big

This would be great storage for some recovery gear and ratchet straps

I was just watching Ronny Dahl last night and thought the same thing....

Pretty cool idea. I saw another one of his vids and saw that his tailgate panel had the same latches my Retrax cover has, and was thinking wtf are those for...
Super cool! Looking forward to seeing what they drum up for our 3rd gens.

Edit: That video was posted on page 1. I'm just late to the party.

Only issue I see with using that space for storage is the soft open starts to get messed with, even with the metal replacement alternatives. If that doesn't bother you then go for it I just know that its one of those small things that would bother me because now I would have to assist tailgate to open so it doesn't slam.

Looking at the website they show a coming soon for the Hilux, and under development for Tacoma. The hilux looks to have some small struts to perhaps help with the load drop. The storage actually looks decent too. And if you can fit a full size pew pew in there........:thumbsup::thumbsup:

    I want one!!!! SUB'D!!
I'll have it so packed full of gear, nothing is going to rattle around. As for being too heavy for the "soft drop"...:benchpress:

I use the full extend of my bed often enough that I can't afford to loose space with a huge mounted tool box, I have to find cubbies to squirrel away my gear.

The issue with the 3rd Gen Tacoma is there's four small compartments and they have bars behind them.

You could put one in! Actually, this would be awesome, way more practical than the Trail Edition storage where's there's very little storage and they take up 1/3 of the bed.

Because Toyota doesn't have to. They sell hundreds of thousands of Tacomas already with the bare essentials.

I ordered a long bed and was happy to wait for it.:rofl:I use the under seat storage in rear seat and have a plastic tool box about the size of an ice chest bungee to a tie down in the bed. It's full of off road-stuff and I almost never have to take it out. No problem here!:playball:
