Agree with the others. No need for alignment after changing rotors. Did you monkey with the suspension????

The rear rotors may be difficult to replace......or find.

    You should be absolutely fine.
I wouldn’t worry about the alignment.
No need for one after rotors and pads.

    Good grief......

Did you put a tool on the upper/lower control arms or the tie rods? These are the "parts" that set the front end alignment.

"monkey with" = play with = touch = adjust = replace

OP, good on you for doing this work yourself, hopefully this isn't the first time you've done a brake job. As others have said, if all you did was a basic brake job you shouldn't need an alignment. A quick drive down a straight road should confirm this.

This is a situation why I wish more schools offered Auto Shop. Even a basic auto repair class could save consumers a lot of money knowing what typically needs to be repaired during other repairs (such as needing an alignment after replacing Struts). I hear more and more stories about people who get ripped-off seemingly needlessly.

In fairness I sell alignments on every vehicle that I screw with something that may mess with alignment even if I don't touch the adjustments, I do agree a brake job doesn't constitute an alignment but I've replaced cv axles and the customer raises hell cause they say the car with bold tires and loose tierods drove perfectly straight beforehand.
Thus I sell alignments when they shouldn't be needed to cover my ass.

Yeah, I was going to replace mine but found that some asshole had stolen them. Weird thing is he replaced them with drums so at least I can still drive the truck...

I get that and understand where you're coming from. I'm more talking about a blatant rip-off. A few years ago I worked with a woman who ran out of gas pulling into the driveway of a gas station. She walked into the repair-portion of the station and asked if they would help push her car to a pump. They told her if her car had run out of gas it would need a fuel pump no question about it, don't even waste time putting gas in the tank because it won't run plus they would have to drain the tank to change the pump and would charge her more for having to deal with draining the tank.. So she (not knowing any better) paid to have the fuel pump replaced on her car most-likely needlessly (this was on a mid '90's Cavalier). Stuff like that.

Honestly it's just a pet peeve of mine that people don't seem to know the basics of what it takes to keep a car on the road. I'm not saying we need to make everyone a car mechanic but some basic knowledge would be handy. For example I know very little about plumbing, but I know enough that when I had a Plumber quote me $1,500 to repair a bad Shower Valve I knew to send him on his way. A lot of people these days seem not to have that sort of logic.

It really is a shame that high schools have gotten rid of auto shop class. Everybody needs to know the basics. Oil changes, disc brakes, just changing a freaking tire on the side of the road. A car is a basic technology that people are so unknowledgeable about then get scammed.

Negative, but a Six-pack and a smile is required for doing things yourself.

    Good job.
