I am also newly on Kruiser 4.0. first drive was over 200 miles heading straight into a strong headwind, going north to Northern WI. Ice cold temps! Mostly ran in 5th, but never needed to drop to 4th!! I was impressed! Heading back south tomorrow, hoping not into a headwind! I am on regular tune, but using premium. Might try out premium tune since I always run premium top tier fuel. Shifting is smooth and seems to shift to the proper gear at the proper time! Who would of thought, after 5 years in this truck! Finally, I think we might just have a winner! Thanks, brother!!

Welp, drove with this new tune in my truck over the weekend, and I have to admit @PapaRee nailed it on this one! My truck is super heavy on 285s, and I drive socal mountains regularly on my commute. I'm seeing about 12.1-13.6 MPG regularly, but that is variable on many conditions. Aside from that the shifting is a huge improvement over previous tunes. I've noticed much better shifting with this one, particularly 5-4 kick down on hills. Previous tunes seemed to just keep needing more and more pedal, then you'd see a quick 5-4 shift then immediately to 3rd. This one I'm not seeing that and shifting is smooth throughout. Power seems improved, or on par with M+W tunes at a minimum. I'm sure as it settles in it will be even better. I may tinker with the throttle map to make it a little less jumpy. Overall it's really really good! Well done!!

Right about the same. Give or take. Hard to say because mine is super unpredictable to begin with. Sometimes it's 14 (rare), and sometimes as low as 11. The real benefit I see in San Diego is the power and shifting improvements. I drive about 50 miles one way from home/work and that's going from the beach to around 2400ft then vice versa. My mileage demands on which way I'm going and how bad I wanna get there. I've seen as good at 17 going down, but I think that was a fluke. Filled up just before going to work. Trip yesterday I saw 14.8 on shutdown. Moral of the story... I need gears. Lmao

 

I'll add I just took my 300lb tent off yesterday. So, that'll factor into the mix. I've been testing tunes fully loaded. So the above numbers are for a fully loaded overlanding build on stock gears. Gonna remove most of that excess weight and see how she runs this week.

Second that, he has been helping further my education with his additional work so it's WELL worth it!!

 

Mine dropped Been averaging 16.2-16.4 with 2.0...It dropped to 14.8, that was after I gave it two tanks of gas to settle in as well (~500mi)

It's a great tune, my only problem was the MPG drop (I drive 400-500mi a week) and I had to essentially go 100% throttle to get it to downshift into 4th when 5th was losing speed going uphill.

I may have missed it in the instructions to update an ECU, but just to make sure; the ECU update is done with ZERO power to the vehicle. I do not press the start button twice like I would when flashing a tune. Please excuse my ignorance in this matter.

 

You do press the start button twice. Then click the cuw file. You’ll cycle the on off at the ignition few times during the coming steps. Each screen tells you step by step with things labeled 1-2-3 type stuff. Can’t hardly screw it up. It’s literally easier than installing techstream or vftuner.

 

Needs to be set to ignition, 2 presses of start button w/o foot on brake. Same process as flashing a tune.

 

Hood also has to be open to update ECU.

it's straightforward once you open the .cuw file...it tells you what you need to do. Waiting for it to complete is the most difficult part.
