So I have this strange harmonic noise coming from around the dash area I think . Around 40-45 mph I can let off the gas and the noise goes away . I tried to record it but was not able to capture it . Anyone have this issue and know what it is ? Before I take to the dealer .
    Thanks

Make sure it's not something inside your cabin which is vibrating. Sunday I jumped in my GF's car to get a Pizza and heard a strange rattle at around 2K RPM. Bugged me for a few minutes until I realized something was ratting in a cupholder.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Is it coming thru the speakers? I have a strange harmonic sound coming from the speakers at a particular speed. If I kill the radio it goes away. Strange, but I consider it normal.

Doesn’t make sense why the noise goes away after letting off gas and maintaining the same speed it does it at .

That’s the MPH range the problems indicative of a needle bearing failure present themselves, if you notice it go away under the same circumstances but with 4wd engaged I’d say you found the culprit.
    Good luck sir!

Are you sure it wasn't the rear axle? I've heard that same noise occasionally. Usually I don't, but that's probably because the radio is masking it.

The times I've heard it, I was going a constant speed or accelerating slightly at around 45 - 50 mph.

It’s hard to tell it sounds like it’s coming from the middle dash area .

Well took it out today on a dirt road put it in 4x4 definitely heard the noise more in 4x4 . So I’m leaning towards differential whine or drive shaft noise . It is a manual so I already have a slight whine noise . Normal ? Even today I was doing around 35 mph and heard the noise before was doing at 40-45 random . At this point I’ll just turn up the radio and drive it . It’s been going on for awhile now since almost new off/on and I’m at 8k miles now . Maybe I just got sensitive to the noise .

I have the same noise…sounds like when you rub the top of a crystal glass.”whistling” Lasts about 3-4 seconds and goes away. Pretty sure it’s A/C related. I’m used to it now.
