4 years ago I was cleaning the sensor to our company's medium format digital camera (which was stupid, should've just taken it to a camera shop) and I managed to scratch the sensor. I'm talking about a camera that cost over $25k brand new and the sensor is probably the most expensive part of it.

Was scared shitless to tell my boss at the time but she was just like 'send it out and get it fixed'. Had to be sent to Hasselblad in Sweden. Dunno what it cost the company but I'm sure it wasn't cheap.

Funny enough I think we've only used that camera once since then and it just sits in a closet collecting dust now.

I lived really close to CRIS in Tempe, AZ. They fix Canon and Nikon mostly but the amount of boxes headed for that place that I saw the UPS dude just yeet out of the truck, made me think I'd rather just buy a new camera haha

Meh, probably about 500 bucks retail. Those little VFDs (below 5hp) have really come down in price

Probably more like $250-$300. The no name VFD's are really cheap these days. And that one looks like it has no additional I/O terminals so that brings the cost down more.

Blew up the folding spare in the back of the 300zx to see if it still works. It does.

1985 date code, would be sketch af running it on the road.

They are halogens. Just ones that pull more watts. Im using Sylvania silverstars right now. Pretty close to the xtreme vision lights they replaced and available locally.

luckily I think what ended up happening was that the sensor has a piece of glass over it, so that was what got replaced. If the sensor itself needed to get replaced, I'm sure the company wouldn't have been so lax about the overall cost lol

Although back then, we were spending roughly $40k per photo shoot and twice that if we were advertising them in magazines. Was definitely a different company then vs what it is now *looks around at big empty office*

It’s funny how you have a huge empty office to yourself. That’s the life.

Its not so bad, get to listen to music/podcasts while I work. Before covid there were more people around but now everyone just meets via video chat so it does get boring lol.
