Have any of y’all shot aluminum case ammo out of your PCC?
I had a partially chambered round detonate in my AR9 a few years ago and I was telling a stranger on IG about it tonight (he’s a part time gun enthusiast like myself) he said that he and some of his friends had all had aluminum cased ammo fail in their PCC’s.

I always assumed that my pre-detonation was the hammer riding the bolt but now I’m wondering if there’s a safety issue with aluminum cased ammo and direct blowback pistol caliber carbines.

I believe it’s a known issue and not recommended. I couldn’t answer why though

I think it's because of high primers, but I'm not sure, either :bananadead:

I've wanted to build a Grendel for years but always talk myself out of it because I don't want to go down the rabbit hole of needing to source all the stuff to build up a decent ammo supply for it (mostly brass). It does seem like one of the best options for a balance between range, bullet weight, magazine capacity and all that in the standard AR-15 frame.

The good thing about Grendel is the availability of factory ammo. There's a few varmint and medium game loads as well as multiple match loads and even a 100 grain steel-cased plinking cheap load.

6.5 grendel is probably my favorite overall cartridge. I sold mine when times were tough and need to put another together.

You sound like me. I have way to many hobbies. Guitars, guns, cars, Dobermans, Bourbon, I can go on forever.

I need ammo, this shit sucks right meow.

Haha, same. I bought a motorcycle last summer and I thought my wife was going to have an aneurysm. "Between your truck, guns, whiskey, golf and now a motorcycle we are never going to get a new house!"

Wanting to throw a decent low powered scope on one of my ARs. I have always shot iron sights, in the military and civilian world. I’d like to scope it for my youngest son. Any suggestions on scope and mounts? Not looking for top of the line, or the bottom of the barrel either.
