I agree with others that are saying this is not normal, in my experience.

I live in a snowy town and just this morning the roads were icy. VSC clicking away frequently and no issues.

In fact, I did a very long trip two Decembers ago where I was in 4wd for almost 8 hours with the VSC being used quite frequently. At least every minute. No issues whatsoever.

To the third commenter on this post recommending turning off VSC, not a good idea. It's a sophisticated system designed to keep you, your truck, and more importantly, everyone else on the road, safe.

That yellow flashing light on the dash drives me crazy every time i'm driving on slippery roads. Finally had this winter and took some black electrical tape and covered this led dash light.

Checking traps and driving down a farm lane with glaze ice on it I was idling along and my yellow flashing light came on!
Let me say this Tacoma has performed great in the fields etc even with the all-season tires on it. Cannot wait to put some better biting tires on it!! I did manage to get the Tacoma hung up between 2 frozen ruts in a field once-driver error!

My 2020 sr5 with goodyear a/t tires goes great in 4wd, better than ever expected. I've been in 15''+ of snow covered dirt woods roads and it never came close to getting stuck. If i took my 2001 tundra with the same tires on those roads, i'd be hung up needing a tow out.

There is this certain hill, that is on the way back from my son's High School, where you are stopped on a fairly steep incline when the light is red at the cross-street. In both my wife's '18 and my '20, whenever you let off the brake and the truck rolls back slightly in the fraction of a second it takes to hit the gas, both trucks freak-out with VSC lights, ABS chatter, etc. I thought something was wrong with the '18 until my '20 did the exact same thing. Seems the electronic nannies in these trucks don't care for certain situation.
