Ordered some bulbs for the reverse lights and these pods for the hood, to aim to the sides.

    Let's see how it goes.
I see myself doing night runs all the time

    These are the lights

This what I have been going throught this winter with normal lights, which pretty good.
Visibility will be worse in the summer, outside log roads

Nowadays I'm just another Subaru-driving a-hole with an engine that sounds like crap (I think the enthusiasts call it "boxer rumble" or something )

I hope to be part of the club in a few months, once sports covid restrictions are lifted.
Looking at a impreza NA 2.5 or outback. I will be only looking to drive it sideways, not straight.

    Mostly stock for now...
I ordered these LED bulbs for my back - up lights

    Screenshot_20210216-165317.jpg

Delivery was quick, they were cheap, and at least twice as bright as the stock incandescent bulbs - another quirk with my 2017 - the back up camera "dims" when the headlights are on - if you turn the headlights off when backing up the image is much brighter. - don't forget to turn your headlights back on again afterwards...

@Snail81 did you end up going out at 4 AM? I was hoping to see pictures.

I waited till daylight to go to work and blow snow all day.

Took the RAV4 rocket......This is the laneway at my office/workshop. I’m really impressed with the 3rd GEN Rav for eating up the snow although she dragged her belly a little bit on the drifts but that’s what the 3.5 L V6 is for. Momo helped me out this morning.

I did. I didn't help anyone and took no pictures because most roads over here were suffering from quite a bit of traffic, especially for that time of the day. Didn't want to park on the side of the road in the dark with obo 20cm of snow and make people go around me.
It was still a nice drive though.

That’s a nice little collection of pictures! Especially the sunrise one or maybe it’s a sunset?

@Snail81 I stole one of your pictures for educational purposes. As a wildlife and habitat manager I take care of a large public wetland property. Phragmites Is a major invasive species enemy. Many people don’t know what it is however you can’t drive on a 400 Series Highway without seeing it.

When it gets this big it’s really a problem!

@Windigo, with the cans on the hitch carrier, are you still able to drop the trail gate completely?
It might also depend on the carrier geometry right?

Yes but i had to get stuff from the side. And I think I had a straight one so low and 2nd gen runner tail gate is small.

You have alot of room in that truck.
There has got to be a better way.

worst case, you replace spare tire on the carrier with another fuel-can carrier...

Yeah, I might consider still placing marine cans in the roof right in the middle.

I would probably build a long platform in plywood and Reinforce the bottom because Distance between the roof rack bars would be huge.

Also Build edges to keep the cans snug.
The cans would probably be lower than this one.
    3 cans, 15gal total.
I could also look at carrying a plastic can on the horizontal, if the lid seals perfectly.
