On a positive note bald mountain is only 14hr drive one way for me so if there aren't too many rigs already I'll drive down instead of flying in

Naw that's perfectly doable. I'll leave at oh oh darkness 30 in the morning and make it down there by evening of whatever day we decide to meet up. Setting up camp is easy for me cause I'll already have the mattress in the bed lol just make sure you guys leave me with a relatively level spot to park.

And if there is no level spot I'll just drink heavily enough to fall asleep at any angle

I just had a late night thought guys.. how many have a winch installed (or will by October)?

With the basic get back to "safely drivable" work I have to do on the truck, I'll still be on stock gears by trip time and I've only ever taken this thing with its current setup on washed out forest roads, not any real trails.

I forsee me spinning tires and needing a tug.

Or to just have a % of you guys berating me me enough that I use more skinny pedal:anonymous:

I think you folks will enjoy Red lake more than Bald mountain imo. Less traffic jam, more remote and quiet. Camping is allow towards the back end at the gatekeeper going to Coyote lake. And for those that want some technical rock challenge, can spend a day offroading to Coyote lake or simply hiking up to red mountain and enjoy the scenery. Camping is awesome at Coyote. Bring spare parts tho, many folks broke cv, lbj, third member, etc on this trail before.

I would recommend at a minimum rock slider, 33" and rear locker for red and 33" locked front and rear or 35" lock rear for Coyote.

I can install rock sliders by then...

What about 31s with 3.58 gears in an open diff and stock skid plates?:bananadead:

I'd agree with that. Red is a fun trail on it's own. Combine it with Coyote and it's pretty great. Coyote is my favorite trail in the area which is saying a lot.
