I'm looking to buy the Carven Catback exhaust. I want an exhaust that will sound good when I step on it, but I don't want a lot of cab noise to the point where it's too obnoxious. Any information and feedback would be very appreciated. Thanks.

Having been on these forums for a few years, I will say that the general consensus from what I have seen is that the TRD exhaust is the best overall.

I think the trd exhaust is the borla exhaust. Just 100 bucks cheaper. It's on here somewhere.

Love my borla! Quiet when cruising but can definitely hear it when you step on it. It doesn’t get obnoxiously loud at high RPMs either, which is great.

I had it for almost a year and still love listening to it, my 2nd favorite mod. It sounds really good for a v6. My buddy has TRD, it’s awesome as well. Similar tone/sound just a little bit quieter.

Flowmaster Original 40 series. Get your old muffler chopped out and get that welded in. Way cheaper than a borla system. Love mine but will probably end up going louder.

I have the TRD, like it a LOT. Nice deep HP tone as opposed to just being loud.

Same, it’s a v6 truck and no v6 truck NA sounds great with an exhaust. I’m not 16 anymore. Now my 350 small block car sounds good with some flowmasters

I've ridden in 30+ Tacomas. The TRD exhaust I heard today sounded fantastic, I was driving.

Not necessarily. I have the Borla and my buddy has TRD. They both sound great on this v6 IMHO. We are in our 30s and both love the sound.

I really did not like driving my manual taco with a stock exhaust. If I had an AT maybe I wouldn’t care as much.

Edit: did you hear Eco boost 3.5 with dual exhaust? Sounds 10 times worse than N/A 2gr-fks.

Yeah, I’ve never heard a v6 with an exhaust that I enjoy hearing other than Porsche. To me it’s just annoying and doesn’t come close to a v8. So, I choose to keep it quiet. But to each their own

I have a Borla ProXS, love it. Much better than the MBRP I had before.

AFE Twisted Metal YPipes, Borla ProXS to dual exit Resonated exhaust tips.

*Sorry for the anime music, spotify radio was weird that day.

    You can’t compare the sound of a v8 to a v6:).

Have you heard borla or TRD on a 3rd gen taco in person?

I think it isn't actually Borla, but another muffler brand that starts with a B.
