I was remarking on the near-tragic irony of the situation. People are freezing and their water isn’t working but the CPS building never flickers a bulb. I don’t imagine they’ll be opening their doors to anyone either.

There was a post floating on the inter webs about all of downtown being light up despite the "power struggle"

 

Was the same in Austin. The ONLY excuse that I will give them is that those big buildings are a complex mess ( and @LostHusker knows), and they don't just "turn off". That said, they all have had a weekend plus to get busy on it.

I was watching the news and there talking about a whole state wide blackout that could last up to 2 weeks

 

Very kind offer luckily my power came back on so maybe the dogs and I will have a good night. Idk if I need to be in a ride out team or drive myself to work. My cell phone/signal is not at 100% yet. Stay safe y'all.

 

This is stuff I can't comment on. Except that it is not good.

 

I like how they kept it all nice and bright during the rotating blackouts. The plan was no more than 15 minutes without power per hour (unless you live downtown, apparently) but for us it was never more than 5 minutes with power. Not even enough for the heater to kick on.

Not even a little surprised.

 

I know in the grand scheme of things ERCOT is to blame for this unmitigated disaster but that REALLY pushes buttons also.
