    My understanding with solar panels your power would still be out unless you have a hell of a battery bank, typically you basically store your power on the electric grid with a power out & a power in meter. It's okay option to save on overall electric bill they say if it's sized right you get about 10 years free electricity out of the 20 year expected life by the time you pay for the system. If you are just wanting to avoid power outage the Generac generators are way more cost effective then the solar & the storage to use when power is out. Generac does now offer some sort of hybrid system I have been meaning to look into.
