I really really shouldn't worry about getting a rear axle right now when I have so much other work to do on the truck but you guys have me so damn excited to regear:rofl:

I just need to remind myself of the cost of a locker to dissuade this premature purchase

Harrop Locker is only like $1300 bucks; no air lines or anything needed.

Could go lunchbox locker and easily install yourself; what $400-500?

Why not buy an OEM e locker setup?

Sometimes you'll run into an entire setup.

Other times just the housing (thought @BartMaster1234 had one?), get the 3rd member from the forums as they pop up from time to time...even craigslist.

I wanna go harrop front and rear. Biggest issue I have with going OEM setup is parts availability is less. Also my plan is to rebuild everything I take off of the truck as a spare or as an replacement should I fuck anything up on the trail.

That's all you buddy, I grew out of that stage of my life. Plus when the missus needs/wants to drive the truck I don't want her to worry about a constantly locked rear lol

He was asking $1,000. I'm offering $800. They are slowly starting to get more expensive here. People want 2K for a totaled Tacoma.

You'll just want an extra cv axle.

How hard you really planning on wheeling to need an extra rear housing?

Awesome, I was thinking 250-300 would be an okay price given the cost to complete rebuild one with new gears

I dunno, I just like being FULLY prepared. Not to mention @Wulf has me scared with that picture he shares of the twisted rear axle splines

He runs 35s vs your 31s lol

He also wheels pretty damn hard seeing as how he has a daily anyway; plus he questioned the reliability of the rear end he fucked up. It wasn't a Toyota rear if that's what you're wondering.

You guys convinced me to go 33s now:luvya:

That's awesome to hear it wasn't a Toyota axle he fucked up though

I guess I worry too much and am over analyzing/building my truck anyway. I'm trying to compete with @Empty_Lord anyway, the amount of money and effort he's putting into one taco is what I hope to have in TWO tacos (minus the second frame and body lol)
