    First gas mileage test, I've been getting around 18mpg highway, got gas this afternoon, 100 mile trip home, got 19.2mpg. Numbers are looking good, and it drives amazing.

    I do not have a copy of his tune to compare. And I would hope that he doesn’t have a copy of mine. I think overhead costs are a factor. I know ours is priced fair and is similarly priced all over the US. Our tune is proven and tested with many reviews.

    Makes sense. These are canned tunes is that correct as in map is pulled from a vehicle like mine and used? Not individual to the motor like a dyno tune.

    I can tell you our tune was made in house by a well known member here on Tacoma World @PapaRee. It has gone through extensive testing on in house trucks to be dialed into what we think is the best tune being offered at this time.
    I cannot tell you where others have got there tune files from or who made them! We do not over charge for tuning! We offer free ECU upgrade with purchase of either tunes ovtune or our Exclusive K&D Performance tune! We want to make it affordable for everyone to get, so they can really enjoy the full capability of the 3rd gen Tacomas.
    A brief description between ovtune and our K&D Performance tunes.

    2.0 is a base tune that only slightly improves shifting and slightly increases throttle response.

    Our tune is a performance tune that has
    -Aggressive/predictable throttle response
    -Smooth predictable shifting at slightly higher shift points
    -Very peppy in gears 1-4, holds 5-6 on highway (for good MPGs)
    -More noticeable low end power/torque
    -Cruise Control shifting matches primary shifting for improved function
    -ECT for a little extra throttle and a little higher RPM shifting--good for towing and Extra performance.
    -S mode uses performance shift points and throttle

    Each year and model Tacoma has a different ECU. We have a tune for each ECU- auto and manual (except 2021 manual) so there are many versions of the tune. But all were made to perform and “act” the same.
