Hey everyone I’m shopping around for places to install a Bilstein 5100 lift and AAL .. I got a quote from Stellar Built (won’t say amount here out of respect) but am still looking around for other prices before making my decision.

Anyone have any great experience with their lift installs at any shops around?

Just curious.....what does that mean? You won’t say the price out of respect?

    Yes.

Their prices are not listed on their website thus they want you to inquire to get a final price. Out of respect for Stellar Built I’m not just going to throw their prices (or the price they gave me) out there for people to speak on. I’m not saying it’s a good or a bad price, I’m just saying I won’t list the number here out of respect for their privacy.

I will consider asking bro but I sorta feel bad because for the most part I’m useless working on major things with vehicles. I’d be that guy sitting off to the side watching other people volunteering to work for food and beer.. and I’d feel bad

Labor rates are gonna be pretty similar up and down the street. If you’re looking for a deal you should do it yourself or with buds. There’s a ton of people here that I’m sure would be willing to help for nothing more then beers, bbq and good conversation.
Regarding Stellar specifically, anything I can’t or don’t want to do I have them do. Demi, Rob and the whole crew are a great bunch of people and they warranty their work should anything go wrong. No experience with any other shops to compare to, but I’d give them a gold star.

My BIL had a springs, shocks and tires installed at MCM on Auburn blvd. He shopped a few places before going there. They treated him well.

Thanks, I think I’m actually going to end up going with them. I’ve been in touch with Mark there and they seem like good people. Lift kit comes in tomorrow then I’m gonna order the ECGS bushing and see if Mark can replace that for me while they’re under there. Still a couple weeks out but I’m excited.

You got a garage or a driveway? Just host something at your place - buy pizza and beer, and the good people of TacomaWorld will help you out.

Bro..I felt the same way. I bought 5100s’ all round, OME 881, Dakar’s leaf pack, bushings, and u-bolts. Sat in the shed for almost a year. This forum gave me the confidence and one day...I said eff it and wrenched on! and I did it!. I was surprised at myself I was able to do it. I gained confidence after that, I ended up removing the leaf pack, cause it was stiffer than the horniest guy in the world, and I did an AAL on the originals.

to sum it up, I believe in you!

I appreciate the encouragement man.. I think I may leave this one to the install shop though. Especially considering I’m just gonna have them replace the needle bearing with the ECGS bushing while they’re down there.

I looked up a video on that and not sure I’d be able to handle that considering the most I’ve done is a spark plug change.

I’m on the same boat as you, I can do bolt ons and stuff but no ECGS as well. In fact I don’t even know what that is.

hit me up if you want to wrench on the easy stuff. I have a drive way, grill and adult beverages.
