The OVT / vF site is down for a major update. Give it until next week and all the info will be there along with an easier registration and setup process.

    You're welcome!

    The full kit is $759:
-- $199 for the vF License.
-- $170 for the vF / Tactix OBD adapter. It sounds like supplies are limited due to the global chip shortage, so jump on that from the tactrix.com site if you can.
-- $390 for the Tune Pack with pre-made vF / OV Tunes. The are alternate tune options posted around TW.

For the 2019 MT trucks - I see there are two different ECU ID's - 04B40 and 04B41

Is there an easy way to know what ECU the truck may have without hooking up to VF? I've got a guy who wants his 2019 MT done but I only have 04B41...I'd hate to make him drive 2hrs only to find out he has 04B40...

Also, what tune are you guys loading for people who want OVT but don't really know anything about it? I'm assuming it's not wise to load up SFOB unless they want a "performance tune" ?

Early production was 04B40 and later was 04B41. No TSB yet to update.

A lot of the folks that I talk to don't know a lot about the tune. It is on you to ask the questions and make a reccy. Of course, waiting around for a test drive and confirmation is part of the gig.

I haven't tuned a MT truck yet. Unlike the AT there are actually options for the MT other than 2.0 and 2.0 THX

This is the 04B14 TP. All MT TPs are similar. We have the Base and SFOB (performance) tunes as well as the Reg / Prem ignition set points. The Dump Tube tunes are only for folks who have those.

I would say for those who don't know, give them the base 2.0 tune

Thats what i do. If they have larger tires or spend time off-road, ill put regular SFOB on.

I'm about to drive across the country towing a u-haul. Would anyone recommend not doing the tune until I get to where I'm going?

quite the opposite, get the tune, drive a tanker to a gas through it and you'll see huge differences. It'll help with your towing too

Like @CygnusX191 said, tune first and give it a moment to settle in. The big torque bump in the bottom end will be a huge benefit while towing.

100% recommend doing the tune first. The additional low end power makes towing much more enjoyable.

Just curious, why do you flash with the reg SFOB guys with bigger tires or lots of off-roading and not the stock rigs that don’t really off-road that much.

I just went back and looked, every MT I’ve done has been reg SFOB. I think for most people, going to the latest TSB and 2.0 is a huge step up over stock and they’ll be happy.

On some trucks SFOB can be a little aggressive if you are stock, depending on your driving style.
