Does your 6spd shift worse with the A/C on?

Now that winter is here I've been using my defroster a lot more. I've noticed that with the defroster (or just A/C for that matter) the truck shifts like crap. It's not smooth shifting with the A/C off, but when it's on the shifts are very clunky, especially 3rd gear with 6th gear bad every.

Does anyone notice their 6spd shifting worse with the A/C on?

 

Hmm, ive never noticed anything but i rarely turn on my a/c.
But when i do turn on the a/c it feels like the truck lunges forward a bit

 

Mine seems the same. Try running your RPM's a couple hundred higher between shifts. The A/C sucks up a little power, if you notice thats why it idles a little higher with it on. Probly just something you have to get used too.

 

a/c takes away power if that is what you mean

 

mines seems to act differently, mainly because as the other guys have said, it takes some power and this will draw the RPMs down between shifts. thats what makes it seem different i think

Gutlessness is in the eye of the beholder. Yes, the a/c appears to use extra power; however, I would not call my 2.7 gutless, even with the a/c operating. Now my previous pickup (not toyota) automatic 4 banger, that was gutless.

 

True I went from a suped up chevy 350 to a 6cyl. taco to a 4cyl. taco!!! In my eyes its gutless.... but nothing like a 4cyl. s-10 or somthing!!
