Toyota really doubling down on their leaf packs by going with a block lift in the back. Guessing the cost of designing/producing a new pack with more leaves to provide lift would drive the price up to 6k out the door

When Toyota announces a warranty approved, basic AAL, to increase payload, I will be happier than this announcement. It would be nice to have a payload of 1750 pounds.

I think it's cool you can get this through toyota if you want it, and.not get hassled about your warranty by putting on your own lift.
But! I'd rather it came complete. Meaning, a real rear lift with a whole new pack, new ucas and new bump stops, timbrens would be good.
    Still, I like it.

$2000.00, Dealer OEM or not. Way to expensive. I did my PRO for $500.00 and I still have my fog lamps and absolutely no camera issues.

Good point. Half of why I lifted my truck was to replace the worn out inverted stock leaf springs. Figured I midaswell add some shocks and 2.5" off ride height while I was at it.

    Let's see....$2,000 @ 2.9% x 72 Months = $30.30/month added to your note......I can see Toyota dealers selling a lot of these kits.

Hmmm...so my dealer told me he would install this on my yet to be delivered SR5 for the listed $1,350 and free install, and no I didn't stutter I said free install. Besides the usual howls and screams on here...would it be a worthwhile deal?

If that includes the grille and new TSS sensor, I'd say that's a decent deal if it's what you want.

The Bilstein 5100 combo on the aftermarket is like $750 or so I think and this TRD kit is probably just that rebranded as TRD. The grille is like $400 or some shit from Toyota. So, that's already $1150 trying to get there aftermarket and you don't have the new sensor and it's not installed. It's not far off but is the grille, "new" sensor, and install worth $600? Up to you.

Only thing to keep in mind is there is no such thing as "Free". The Sales and Service departments are 2, distinct profit centers and I can assure you the salesman is not allowed to give away "free" service tech hours. Just tells me you had at least another $500 in wiggle room on the price.

Hey, when Costco makes you sign a piece of paper saying you will bring your vehicle back, within 25 miles or some such, to get the lug nuts re-torqued.......yes, I am "shocked" because the first time one of these trucks flips, from an accident or operator stupidity, their lawyer is going to sue Toyota for changing the center of gravity, it is a given. I have a buddy who is a "contingency attorney" and people have come to him asking if they can sue because their bread turned moldy after 2 weeks.......and that is one of the more believable stories. There are people who make a living suing over any and everything, and I'm not talking about attorneys, I'm talking about career plaintiffs.....fact.

Not trying to start a war of semantics but I am confused about the $2000 being thrown around.

thread starts with “just under $2000”. Might be more accurate to call it “just over $1000” since its $1350. Even with taxes it’s less than $1500.

$1350 doesn't include install though. I think the $2000 being thrown around does include install.

With the stock leaf pack and a block lift... "Yo dawg, I heard you like factory recalls. So we got you a factory recall on an accessory for a part with a factory recall" Everything will probably be fine, but for how much hate the community gives blocks in the back now we can listen to service advisors tell us 'It's fine when we do it'.

I wonder if they will do the ECGS bushing if you get vibes from your warranty covered lift?

that would make sense at $100-120 per hour 4-5 hours per the posting would be right at about $2k.

But will they give you back the fog lights they remove so you can re-install them again later? Hell if I paid for them from the get go they BETTER!

My understanding from the other tread is they put covers over them and pull the fuse so easily reversible

Nah, Toyota doesn't expect people to be coming in for this. It's for dealers to put on new trucks, then sell with the crazy markup.

At least it's better than the $5k wheels + spacer lift they do in CA :bananadead:

Have already ordered the truck at our agreed upon price over a month ago - and this just came out so it wasn't figured into my deal....which was pretty good to begin with. I'm not particularly interested but was simply curious as to what the hive thought. Personally I like the simpler the better - and not having any lifts or whatever would be simpler. And as hard as it is to believe on here not every dealer is out to bone you...or maybe I just lucked out.
