Got a few bucks burning a hole in my pocket and was thinking about getting a light bar for my hood scoop and for behind the lower portion of the grill. However, I would not be using them that often so I don’t want to spend an arm and a leg.

Everything I found in here says Cali raised or the like. Don’t know if I’m wanting to spend that much without knowing if I’ll get much actual use out of them.

Anyone have any recommendations on what to go with? I’m hoping Amazon has something of decent quality. I know I won’t be able to expect it to last forever, but if I have it for a couple years and find I use it more than expected, I can get better quality ones down the road.

Recommendation on hood scoop light bar and lower grill light bar? Any applicable brackets and switches?

Spartan X custom on IG for scoop light (I run this and it's been great since I installed in 2017). There is also a JDM hood scoop kit on Amazon for a more affordable option. I mean, it's a small bar in a hood scoop....

As for the lower bar, if you think Caliraised is too expensive then that takes out any major brand recommendation, probably find a same size light bar on amazon as well.

I run the caliraised lower light bar brackets and they work as well as any other metal bracket

Thanks man! I checked out Cali raised pricing and it’s not horrible. Figured I could try something out and if I get enough use out of it, get something better down the road.

Question on the brackets. It looks like they’re for a 32” bar. Do you know if any 32” light bar would work with them? Anything specific I should be checking for?

I may end up just going with Cali raised kits but figured I would ask.

I know some people go premium brand 32” bar or rough country has a set up for that too.

I went with the Cali raised combo (spot / flood) same time I got the brackets. Dad has the same bar on his tundra. Both had them since 2017 and both still work great for our needs.

thanks for the input! I’m guessing you’re talking about the combo below? I’m not too familiar with light bars; what would be the differences and use cases for a spot light versus a flood light? And on the combo, how do you flip between the two modes? 0E49BCA1-3B8E-46E4-88C8-D9FBBDD4EA9D.jpg

    Yes, that one.

You don’t flip between the two. It’s both on at the same time. The bar has a center spot section and the outer sections parts have a flood pattern. It’s the light output pattern.
So the combo has a forward long shot center output spot and the side flood pattern has a wider scatter output, for wider, higher and lower sections where it throws light.

does that makes sense? You can YouTube some videos that shows both. You can get the concept of light patterns from any brand.

That actually makes perfect sense. I was familiar with the concept on regular household bulbs. Wasn’t sure if it was the same for light bars though.

    Thanks for the clarification!

I went with a behind the grill Cali Raised 32" Combo, and am very pleased with it.
