A double pole will work on a single pole heater. You just hook up one leg as opposed to two. So if you see one rated for 220v, it will work for 110v as well.

Definitely kill the circuit breaker before you go any farther.

Don't you have a friend, or a friend of a friend that knows something about wiring?? Sorry to say this but reading your responses , you sound woefully UNDERQUALIFIED/UNDER CONFIDENT to do these type of repairs. Would you rather set your house on fire or spend some money and get it fixed correctly? End of my comments!

Relax, just because I don’t kill bears on the weekends and roll around in 5w-30 on weeknights doesn’t make me incompetent.

I like to work smarter not harder. I seek advice and research before I do anything. Whether it’s my truck or baking a cake. That’s how I roll sue me.

I had the exact same issue with the exact thermostat. Eventually it was stuck on 24/7 and I had an absurdly high electric bill for this month. $20 replacement thermostat fixed the issue. Those line voltage tstats lose their calibration over time. There should be a set screw on that piece of metal which expands and contracts and you can adjust that set screw to change when the tstat kicks on.
