    Stub is in and oil slinger is in all the way. Original shim depth was used and that was 0. When I added shims it was to tight. Here's another video from the stub shaft opening https://youtu.be/Bx_aFDfhIvs
    It kinda seems like the pins on the locker are doing it!?

    I can't tell. Def something strange that shouldn't be happening. If I had it in my hands I'd be taking it apart and trying to replicate the sound on the bench to pin point it.

    Can you take it back apart and bench test using and old CV shaft without snap ring?

    I pulled it back apart and have pin pointed it to the pins in the locker. It seems as if the pins are contacting the spider gears. I'm hoping that's it. I lent my bearing splitter to a friend and will split it in the morning. Fingers crossed that's the problem and it's not completely effed! Still didn't notice any shavings in the oil or housing though. Just some marking paint

    That paint/grease is sticky.

    If this were the problem it would persist in 4wd as well. It’s definitely not the R&P either as those don’t even spin in 2WD, you can see it in the 2nd vid.
    Probably not spider gears either because it goes away both in 4WD and locked so I’m guessing it’s the actual locker... maybe a bum unit?? Or damaged during assembly?

    Covering every base usually leads to diagnosing the issue.

    Found the problem! My dumbass put a pin in upside down :annoyed: and it was pushing the locking gear into the spiders! Thanks everyone for your help! :hattip:
