Currently planning to expand the center drain hole in the bed. I have power running to the cubbyhole already but it’s not the optimal set up.
Where did you pull wire through?

I have power in the back already with 16ga that I used just for lights, but in preparation for a fridge I am beefing up to thicker wire. I’ll be coming in somewhere around the front passenger corner, and up through the “eyelet” on the SP here, and then into a cubby plate with a cable gland. Then back out the frame to the panel, I crudely drew it here:
    23F11474-78BA-4FE4-AEAA-CD8D48841321.jpg
On 3rd Gens there is actually a considerable space up there in the front corners of the bed (that I’ve been jamming butyl tape into) where wire can easily be ran without drilling.

I did something similar with my flippac, when I expanded one of the corner drain holes. I’d recommend coming in higher, I found that water would collect and all sorts of crap in the bed would chaff up the wiring. The cable glands are cheap, keep the wiring nice and secure, and you can run your wire up on the outside of the bed between the bed and cab where it’s protected, and just come in under the rail. Just my 2cents though, as I now have a huge blown out drain hole on one side that annoys me haha

Confirmed this morning with Cindy that "Existing customers with paid deposits will NOT have their prices raised. That would totally be a horrible business practice. The new pricing structure is effective for new customers only."

    Well done SP!

@frenchee sorry for the dealy, the white portion of the roof is 50.5" between the extrusions.

Pro tip: I had the camper up at Mt Hood Meadows last weekend and noticed the latches getting pretty frozen/sticky in the stormy weather. Talked to a friend with a GFC and he recommended T-9 lubricant to help avoid freezing. I just applied a coat and will give some feedback after more snow camping this weekend.

Also, for those interested, fireplace install starts Monday!

Tent latches, or door panel latches?

Pretty nasty freezing rain up there last weekend, i had to heat up some water to get my ski rack open. Good powder (for hood) to be found until that rain hit on sunday though.

The upper tent latches. I didn't have any issue with the door latches, as they are all internal and didn't have any exposure to the weather.

Yea - we had a super fun day Saturday, but Sunday was super wonky. The drive home on Monday was pretty insane with the ice in eastern PDX - 1-1.5" of solid ice on the road for about an hour before we got across the river into WA. Some of the scariest driving I've done.

Your idea makes way more sense. I’ll try to come in through that bed gap. I’m pulling 2 4awg hots back there and will obviously need to find a ground close by so I may have to pop a new hole.

    Why the two hots?

I plan to go 4awg hot to the 6-banger blue sea fuse block, and a 4awg ground to the frame nearby just to save some bones bc 4awg is expensive. I’ll 18awg to the lights in the back, which is probably overkill but it’s what I have an abundance of. Eventually a 10awg to the fridge, wherever I end up putting that.

One to the house battery system and one to my compressor.
18awg to the fuse block and everything else.
    No fridge plan yet.

Interesting, where is your fuse block mounted? And where is the compressor?

I have my compressor stored behind the back seat, with an “extension cord” that has a Anderson Powerpole connectors as both ends. I put one on my actual compressor too. I have one powerpole under the hood now that I’ll be moving to the back, as well as an powerpole/alligator clip for use on other vehiclesAA6392DE-F18A-4ED5-95E1-69E8F516A780.jpg3E09F875-62CC-4F96-BC1B-6A37318F94C9.jpg

Also, I picked up some “ShittCo. Awning Hacks” for the SP, it’s a nice option to have on the back flap. Not really weather or wind proof, but good for flow/shade in the summer

With 50.5" between the inside rails I can easily fit the panel in the front (42.2") long.

If it’s not abundantly clear yet, I have no idea what I’m doing. I know my plan will work as far as the electrical system goes but the placement and everything else might not be the best way.

Compressor will be in the bed passenger side between the cab and wheel well. I will have. A relay/switch mounted in the upright wire race (still waiting on the face plates) the compressor won’t be readily accessible as it will be behind my spare tire and below my battery tray.
Hopefully the pictures make sense of what I’m trying to explain.
I’m getting after it tomorrow or Saturday so there’s still time to make edits.

Ah, makes much more sense. I chose to keep my compressor mobile, and an extension cord takes up less room than air hoses. Your setup makes sense, and having it all tucked in there is pretty nice!

I got notice that my cover plates and rear door with window got shipped out today, awning brackets are still “coming soon”

Whew! That’s a relief. I was a little worried my plan was headed for the garage.
I’ll reach out to Cindy about my plates. I have access to a plasma table and am about ready to just make some now that I’m gonna need them.
