Toyota announces 2" factory Lift Kit

Does anyone know if this is compatible for the OEM front camera that comes on the offroad?

 

This lift has me thinking. Might consider picking one up! I have a 16sr5 double cab long bed. So I don’t need the safety sensor and I already have a pro grille.. wonder if my local dealer would just sell me the suspension stuff.

I see it says it’s not compatible with a double cab long bed? Is this because of weight? Or the safety Sens? Really all I’d like to do is level the truck out.

Looks like they will. 330ish for just the front and rear shocks.

Toyota TRD OEM lift kit

 

For those who have installed, does the "Pro" grille have a hole for the front camera that can be blocked off? I dont have a front camera and dont want a visible hole without maybe a delete cover of some sort.

I keeping hearing this works with Toyota Safety Sense, does it not work with other lifts?

 

So it is missing the garnish which if purchased from factory is over $200? Is that why the grill is so cheap? I am so happy they have one with a camera hole at least.

 

The garnish is included...If you look at the pic, it is between the fog light "delete" covers...

What you're saying make sense until you think about the numbers. You're telling me 1" in the front warrants the removal of the fog lights? I don't buy it.

 

Re the front fogs, taken from the PT84K-35220 (TRD Lift Kit) installation instructions:

WARNING:
When the TRD Lift Kit installed, the OE fog lights will no longer comply with most US State lighting regulations for fog light height position. The OE fog lights must be disabled & removed in order to comply with these US States’ lighting regulations for on-road usage (at the time of writing these instructions): AL, AR, AZ, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, ID, IN, KS, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN. MT, ND, NM, NV, OH, OR, SC, TX, WA, WV

From what I understand, if your fogs are disabled through the installation of this kit, it is quick procedure to "reenable" them...Remove covers, reconnect harness, reinstall fuse...

 

I would get the kit for a few reasons as a person who doesn’t off-road their truck beyond the random dirt road.

1) levels truck and gives it a more aggressive truck like appearance to my eye.
2) get the Pro grill which looks much nicer than the OEM TRD Sport grill that isn’t color matched to anything else.
3) no concerns about my camera or collision mitigation technologies not functioning as Toyota intended.
4) a warranty.

I give them credit for coming out with a product for the average consumer. As stated many of the people on here ask more of their truck and this would be a waste when you could put the founders to better performing products to fit your needs.

 

Agreed stock fogs are obsolete.

If you can adjust them though they're absolutely still usable

 

I for one welcome OEM's getting into the "aftermarket" parts business. But seems like a lot of money for essentially a mild spacer lift with some upgrade shocks. Grill no thanks and who wants to get rid of their fog lights? But it's OEM so it will sell like crazy I'm sure.

 

You could be right, but it seems to me that it would depends also on the amount of lift. Like @2020_TRD_OR suggested, 1 inch probably doesn't make a difference functionally. But I would think at 3 inches, which is what a lot of people have, you'd be shooting down through the fog and at that point they're the same as regular headlights. I'm certainly no expert though, happy to be corrected if someone knows better.
