    Today is the day.....I'm not looking forward to this. Our 11 year old Yorkie has cancer in her throat. She's gone downhill a lot in the last week or so. So I get to take her to the vet this afternoon and have her put to sleep.
    :annoyed::(

    The gf has had her since she was a puppy. And they've lived with me for 7 years. She's spent most of her life at my house.

    After 22 years in the same area at work, I decided to bid on another job in assembly, 4 pay grades higher.

    I should be a shoe in as im the highest senior in my class and most qualified, but politics/good ole boy system seems to play alot in bid wars. :fingerscrossed:

    Just got home the other day after a long hitch. Gonna be one day soon that I won’t come home to this. Never asks where I’ve been but always happy when I get home. Thanks for the remind. Your loss will prepare me for mine.

    The gf stayed home with her all day today. I'll be going by myself to the vet as she can't handle it. I want her in my arms when they do it. Even though I feel like I may regret that decision but I want her in the arms of someone she knows and loves.
    The toughest part is realizing I'll never see her again, that this is it. And I don't want to do it but we know she is suffering and it will only get worse.

    Had to put our beagle down about 4 yrs ago now. He was my daughter's buddy. That was the hardest part for me.

    Your doin’ for Her, what she can’t do for Herself. Just what a good partner does. The little dogs last memory will be one of Love the way it should be. Just a little pay back is all that’s required. Right thing to do.

    Ken, have you considered having a vet come to your house to do it? That way she is in a place she knows and surrounded by those who love her when she checks out.
