This is what I would use if you can't the pipe any further in. Be careful you don't split the pipe with it though.

I've never had to use before but you don't think it will work for this? Not flairing an existing pipe but just taking the dent out he made with clamp?

Also OP odds are you can rent one for free from a local auto parts store.

I get you. But, I wouldn't touch it with those. Bert and I crushed the HF version on the OE pipe. They may work on cheap stuff. I would think that Gibson is using wall thickness similar to OEM, esp judging from the pics above.

Fair enough. OP if that doesn't work and you can't get the pipe in far enough a muffler shop will be able to open it back up. Or just use the band clamp and hope for the best.

I think that is a better route.

After the exhaust shop got done laughing at our effort to get by for a couple days, they made a turn down tip for me and welded it on for free. I was hoping for mandrel bends, but I couldn't argue with free.

LOL... You definitely get to the point where all the low hanging fruit has been done, and you're left with the headache projects. Despite all of my planning, every one of my recent mods have turned into WAY more work than I expected. Not like the early days of simple bolt-on mods, that seemingly all went to plan...

Hang in there bro! The more effort it takes, the better you'll feel when it's all installed and functioning properly.

Complete garbage. I tried multiple sets which broke like nothing. Returned them and had an exhaust shop help me out. I get mad every time I lay eyes on these pieces of junk.

Yep. These are the tool equivalent to snake oil. I would maybe trust them to expand a pop can, but even then I would not bet on it.

LOL just saying ive screwed up before but this exhaust was a piece of cake. 15 min in and out.

i can testify that the 2nd 3rd and 4th times putting things back together is always quicker.

if you cant get the dent out just dent the inside pipe... we're not dealing with high HP engines
