It's really not terrible, K-12 kids that I know seem to like it. They only really have to go 4 days a week and if they're on top of their work they get done really early M-Thrs.

If I was 100% online it might be different, but right now I'm paying rent and shit because I have 1 class I have to go to for 50 minutes 3 times a week.

Thats a big plus for sure. At the rate college tuition keeps rising even despite the shitty economy god only knows what it will cost to go in 20 years.

Oh it’s awful. I hate it. But the professors know students aren’t really trying, my Geology class that’s 4 units with a lab has this great professor. He straight up said “if you can scrape by with a 75, I will give you an A”

I guess it depends on where you are, here kids haven't been in the classroom since this all started....except now they are starting to let some districts go back in small groups. I think charter/private schools have been going back now too. But most are still at home.

Going to be a big learning gap with this generation of <18 year olds

Decided I didn’t like business, so now I’m doing the ultimate cop out major; Communications.

I do plan on going to some kind of technical school after. I really like what Danny & Abeyancer does with the automation stuff.

My dad majored in communications and ended up in business lol. Although he's told me that for anyone to fill his position nowadays they'd need an MBA in business, back when he got hired in the 80s they just wanted you to have a degree of some kind.

Oh he’ll agree with me haha. But it does set you up for a lot of different industries, and a college degree (in anything) is always a good thing.

It's seriously a huge plus; that's tens of thousands of dollars easily saved.

That's if our kids go to college in CA; if they go out of state though :bananadead:

A really good school here is UC Berkeley. It’s notoriously difficult to get into. I told this to my old teacher who went there in the 70’s. He was shocked. I asked him how he got in:

“I paid the $60 application fee”

Or private college $$$$$$$$$ :bananadead: I imagine whats covered are in-state, state funded schools right? UC and Cal States for instance.

There are a lot of great UC/Cal State schools though

I was on the subreddit for my university and someone was asking “how hard is it to get in?”

Top response: “Ya got a pulse? Welcome to SF State.”

I don't want to talk about aluminum radiators.

Haha damn. I didn’t really want a Aluminum radiator, but that’s all they make for these cars anymore. I would’ve been happy with the stock Brass one. It’s just mine was 40 years old and I didn’t trust it anymore.

My friend goes to this fancy Jesuit university in the Silicon Valley. This one professor he has is a priest and has six degrees, one is from USC. He said “oh yes, I got my Masters from the University of Spoiled Children”
