I haven't looked into private but we've got awhile until we're there anyway.

My girl is 6 months from her Masters, but insists on getting certificates in a few other things which means a total of 1 year more of schooling.

If private schools aren't covered then I would suggest steering them away from the idea at a young age, I wish I would have been lol.

Are trade schools covered? That would be awesome

I guess I shouldn't be surprised the youth can't drive a stick, but it's impressive you got a project that you don't know how to drive. Don't know what you're learning curve is but I hope you're confident separating the engine and trans in case you burn up a clutch learning.

yeah I was gonna suggest he find a buddy with a generic Honda or Toyota sedan that has a 5 speed and learn on that, those are super easy to learn on.

I thought I messed up the transmission right before you got here because neither me or my friend could shift it into any gear. I don’t know what you did or how you did it, but it was magic.

 

You were sitting on a bucket in the 5lug trying to learn stick, no wonder it didn't take.

 

90's Honda clutch is super sensitive compared to Toyota's.

 

If you saw the seat that was originally in that truck you’d be sitting on the bucket too.

 

They are, since I can go to one myself using my GI Bill. Just don't have the time unfortunately but maybe that could change once I move.

 

I don't know if I've driven a stick Honda actually, but my old Scion with a 6 speed was ridiculously easy to use. That thing would pull itself up a hill just by feathering the clutch out in first. My truck won't even pull itself forward on flat ground with the clutch lol. Too heavy I guess. Easy to burn the clutch if you aren't precise with the footing, which is why I wouldn't want to teach anyone on it.
