Pretty sure Ford has the factory boost levels set to max at 21 on the 6.7's
But, they've probably upped it by now

Gauge goes to 40 psi, highest I've been able to manage is 35 with an ear to ear grin the whole time! General use, cruise control on the highway between here and Albany, I'll fluctuate between 5-10, maybe up to 15 on the long uphill run in the western part of the state. Same run with the 7k lb camper, cruise control on, it'll fluctuate between 5-20 psi.

It's fun to watch those boost gauges that's for sure!

Wow, they bumped it more than I figured, then. Makes sense; as part of the ongoing horsepower & Torque war. They haven't changed the displacement, so to make more power they'd have to shove more air & fuel down it's throat.

Pretty sure it depends on the configuration. They jumped to around 30 PSI for the ones making 1000 ft/lbs last year, I think. The 'detuned' 850 version I'm sure makes less

Honestly, watching the tear downs of the new engines is impressive. It's a combination of more air, cooler (more dense) air, more fuel, more efficient injectors, higher pressures with the CP4 pumps (which brings about it's own issues) and then they just deal with the effluent. They really are impressive powerplants.

They certainly are, but I still wish I could get a smaller-displacement unit for better MPG's that was rated for like 300-350/600 ft/lbs. I don't need or want the kind of power & towing numbers they're making now (or to spend what they want to jump into a diesel in the first place), but I'd like that low-end grunt, and the economy of an unloaded diesel.
Give me the option of a diesel that made mid-2000's 5.9 Cummins or Duramax #'s as a $6-7k add-on and I'd be a happy camper. :notsure:

I don't know exactly but I'd say in the mid to high 30s.

Welcome! I use woolwax and spray a good amount of others trucks on here as well. Its currently too cold to spray for me as I don't have a garage/shop but will be spraying again come spring time. My 2013 is pretty darn clean, no rust, but greasy from the woolwax lol

    SNARL..

Is it possible the other people (not manager) already had the time off as well? Just a thought.

I know you said he's new, what's your general read on him so far (other than this)

Same reason I would be hard pressed to leave my company, much as I hate some of what I see there. 5 weeks V time plus 8 sick days a year, pension, 401K, benefits are damn good and not expensive.

Is that a Volvo? I used to know a trucker who drove for a few different companies over the years and had ended up with a lot of different rigs as a result. He said he liked the Volvos the best and none of the others were even close in his eyes.

No, days off are posted on a 'community' calendar for all to see so we don't waste our time asking for time off that other people are already scheduled for. The old policy was 2 people, apparently it's now 1, unless the manager wants it off or feels like giving it to somebody else, etc. When I made my request there was only 1 other person listed and he told me about his 1 person limit explicitly, via email.

Generally middle-of-the-road competent as a generic people managing unit, totally useless in terms of somebody involved in the tire industry. Comes from a Call Center/Support Center background but has zero experience with the automotive field at all. He's been with us roughly 3 months now and still can't even take a call to help a customer when we're slammed, despite having gone through our standard 3 week training program.

And at 1,400 rpm, that’s just awesome. The few times i’ve been able to run my truck up to 35 psi, I hit an on ramp on a 3rd gear shift perfectly and just hammer down. I can pull 35 psi from about 1,500 rpm to around 2,500 and then it starts backing down or I let off because I got way past highway speed way to quickly and need to slow up. Diesels amazes me with how much power they put out and they aren’t even sweating
