So on the same note, when we were in Tahoe in 15 degree weather and plugged in using our electric heat, we had it at 75 inside with only the fan coming on every so often with the thermostat. It worked great except that the humidity was super low to the point our noses were super dry in the morning. And that was with two dogs too. I think it was at 10-15%. Obviously we need more practice and really looking forward to that part.

 

Got a response from Aerolon - they have some tape that they recommend testing with before moving to paint. I'm going to pick some up and see if it will resolve the sweating issue and let you all know.

Pic below of typical daily frost issue - for the most part the propane box sweat and the exposed aluminum struts on each side of the Kimbo sweat about half way down so we had to be careful not to let blankets or anything get near it or it'd end up wet.

If this tape works on the propane box, I'll consider painting the entire interior under the insulation with the stuff.

Oh wow. I have not seen that. Do you have insulation on the inside of the box?

 

That is pretty dry for sure! We were between 13-16 after dark and 40% humidity inside and the temp at about shoulder level was 65-ish, which means it was much warmer in the loft and much colder at the ankle. I think that is part of the issue as well - being able to get that heat to the floor.

I did notice (as someone mentioned in an earlier post) there was a drip on the thumb screws in the morning, so I can imagine that the walls under the insulation was likely wet as well. I hope the paint/tape will help to inhibit this.

After talking with the girlfriend, rainy beach time, we were hitting 50-70 humidity until the fan kicked in. Probably getting the humidity below 40% would help too.

Yeah, also considering removing the big advertisement...just need to determine what would look good in it's place. I've got some initial ideas for installing some 6" round LED lighting on an aluminum light bar up there to break up the flats. Or maybe find a sponsor - LOL.

 

I took off the advertisements with a hair dryer on a warmish day. They peel very easily. I washed it well afterwards, a little bit of water formed up on the area that used to be covered by the stickers, I suspect after another week or so you won't be able to tell the difference at all.

I've has some condensation on the door and the propane tank box in cold temps, nothing excessive. It is certainly waaaay better than the old setup we had in NZ for 5 months that had large single pane windows and moss growing in the seams outside. Her name was bessie, florence was the trailer.

 

Given the times... Could go lite since its only 900lbs.

highly recommend the backet extensions... before these came out, i bent my bracket offroading and has to bend it back then gusset it

 

Thanks! It's on the list before next big trip. Did enough off-roading to stretch the tie-downs where the camper is attached already. Dont plan on anything more serious than that in the future. These will offer a peace of mind though.

Wait till you have kids, you gotta put them somewhere! Seriously, we're looking at fabricating a bunk out of extruded aluminum.

 

Progress on the heater box. Will be getting the same treatment as the table. We’ll see how this vent treatment goes. This is what happens when you wander around Home Depot too long.

 

I can't fathom this thing in more than a slight breeze...would be quite a ride tho - sell tickets and make your mortgage payment on that sucker.
