I have no experience with CC (dont even own a 3rd gen )

But I wonder if theres something to this. The truck knows what inclination its at. It may very well be acting as designed until it starts to crawl (or more likely descend) and then the speed will vary a bit more. Im not sure thinking of CC like cruise control to maintain exactly X mph under all conditions is the correct way of thinking..

I understand that, but wouldn't you want everything to work if you paid the toyota tax for the off-road? Just my thought, although it doesn't work and I probably don't need it, I want everything that I paid for to work.

I'm not sure either, but no matter if I call the dealership or corporate, they sound deadbrained about crawl control. It's a joke really...

I honestly wouldn't care. Especially if I knew that I didn't need it.

You should test it going downhill to see if it lets you get up to a higher speed in different settings.

You could also try it on a curb. Im willing to bet 1 will creep over the curb and 5 will try and yeet you over it.

Isn't there a "I'm an old skoool, no technology havin' type of guy" thread that you can post in?

Probably. It could be fun. Except that I'm not an "an old skoool, no technology havin' type of guy". & I'm sorry that my ability to drive on road or off without any aid offends you... I was only trying to help the guy out by saying, "hey, buddy. It's going to be ok. Don't even worry about it", not realizing that a little encouragement is offensive also. But ok. I leave you to worry and cry over your nanny features that you can't drive without. Good luck.

I reckon if you were trying to descend down a hill in a controlled manner it would do 1-5mph based on setting. Haven't tested it but I'll try to remember to next time I'm off roading

I'm not offended by your surely spectacular driving skills. I can and do offroad without using the crawl control that I also payed for. If it turned out that a feature that I paid for didn't work, even if I never use it, I would want to know why. What if something is broken on his truck, and the crawl control isn't the only thing affected but whatever the root cause is?

The help that you offered clearly isn't what OP is asking for. You could have seen that and closed that browser tab and moved on. I do that every day here. THAT, is what bothers me. Instead, you've got your panties in a bunch and keep on trying to convince us that your opinion is the only correct one. Keep it up, you'll surely convince us all if you're persistent.

Here's a hint for you, text on the internet doesn't convey the tone of voice you are hearing in your head or your facial expression like it would if we were having a face to face conversation.

I replied to OP telling him not to worry. Cool, calm and collected, never once stating that my opinion was the "only correct one". It's was just MY advice. Period. Then, you come in, like that shiny white knight you're trying so hard to be, replying to me. After that, I simply responded to your "old skoool, no technology havin' type of guy" reply, again, calm and collected, with a touch of return sarcasm, and now I'm the one with my "panties in a bunch"? LOL! Clearly, you're confused. Especially after stating that you were the one bothered. I highlighted it in your quote so that it's easy to see... & maybe I am persistent, but if you reply to me, I will respond. Every time. Not to be rude, but as a courtesy to let you know that I read your words... Maybe you should have taken your own advice, and "closed that browser tab and moved on" because it surely does seem that you misinterpreted me as opposed to me misinterpreting anything. And thanks for the hint. I'm good, though.

That is indeed what is advertised. Maybe the phrase "up to" is their CYA phrase in case you never really get to 5mph.

I'm speaking from personal experience, videos of folks using CC, and other posts. I've never seen even close to 5mph on any type of uphill, downhill, or flat scenario in the highest speed setting.

I'm not confused, I'm reading you loud and clear. You make a lot of assumptions based on some words you read on the internet. Do you have any other names you want to call me while we're here?

I had heard it as 1-5 km/hr. So .6 to 3mph. I've used it once downhill in snow and all I remember is 3 was good and 5 was way too fast.

if I bought a truck with a feature, any feature, I'd damn sure want it to work. Imagine trying to sell the truck to someone who wants that feature, and having it not work. Thats just one scenario.

Figures the guy with the non functioning skewp doesn't care if features actually work in a vehicle.
