puller, bearing splitter, or weld a big nut to it and use a bolt to push it off the input shaft

I was thinking of the weld a nut on it already as an option , so cool that backs up my thought .

Provided I get the wiring at the 4x4 controller delete done properly and get the switches swapped over correctly from the stock case and the FJ and the speedo gear sensor also . Lol

I would double check that you need to remove it, I'm not positive if the R155F output shaft is male or female output spline, my mind is telling me to leave that coupler alone but maybe someone that's done the swap on a 2.7L can chime in. As for all the other bells and whistles you mention, they are not needed to make the truck drivable and can be added later, you just wouldn't have 4wd capability. Worse case, leave your front ADD lock in prior to removing everything, then the only thing you shouldn't have are the indicating lights functional but 4wd would be functional.

Yes I plan to leave the coupler until I know what I’m dealing with , as far as the bells and whistles I no thing will work with out them after the ADD delete I just don’t want unnecessary lights , I’d like them to light up properly which is pretty straight forward .

on my second fj case, i was able to knock the coupler off with a punch and ball peen with very little effort. so i would give that a try before welding a nut just incase you need to reuse the coupler

How about with complete shifter in its final install position? looks like that is cut off at the first angle.

I think you’ll find the best way to get the fitment you want is not via pictures but via a lot of trial and error. Bend, cut, grind, weld, test fit, repeat until you achieve desired shift pattern.

I fully expect to have to modify it but if I can can wisdom through someone else’s experience than why reinvent the wheel right ?
