Interesting. Sounds like we have practically the exact same setup. The more I hear from other peoples experience the more I’m leaning to 650lb coils being more ideal.

@PcBuilder14 you could be on to something. Hopefully the 700# spring rate will endure and sag less as the miles get put on. That was my thought process when selecting this spring rate (and having roughly 200lbs of added weight up front)

Do you by chance have the compressed and extended lengths of those coilovers from ADS? This will help us determine where the shock is sitting at ride height. Similar to measuring shaft showing, but if you don't know the shock lengths, shaft showing is pointless. Too much preload (NOT equal to threads showing) would reduce the amount of down travel the shock can have and provide a harsh ride. If the measurements come back good, we can rule our shock setup and move towards diagnosing some other issues.

How long have you had them on the truck? I have the identical setup and it took at least 2-3000 miles to break in and soften up. I’ve only had top out once or twice hitting a big speed hump (too fast) where I came off the ground about an inch

Lower tire pressure- fatter tires a possibility, get limit straps? I know this may sound douchey but maybe slow down a little or get used to it, there's been a few complaints of this but idk mine only seem to do it when i'm really pushing it or hucking speed bumps a little to much and catch some air, and even then the main problem is me being lazy about mounting limit straps imo. Your suspension is gonna bottom out and it might not be all that bad if you're just not accustomed to it yet, the shocks are good but it still is a 4000 lb truck with near stock suspension geometry and barely more than stock travel after all

We're working with 8-9" of travel. What do you expect?

Limit straps should be at the top of the list for anyone who wants a solid 'mid travel' setup.

A couple of months. This only started after I cranked up the rings after installing new load E tires. I don't think I went too high. I even took it back down a couple of turns on each side after going up initially. Hell, maybe it's just the tires slamming down hard, idk. I'm gonna mess with the adjusters like Tyler from ADS said. I'll see if that addresses this.

I don't want to create any stigma or discourage anybody considering these shocks. The ride is supreme. What's happening is not violent, just a little annoying. I just gotta dial these in some more I hope.

I can imagine your E-loads could be the culprit if you are over 35-50 psi depending on the tire

I'll tell you what I don't expect: Having these expensive coil overs top out going over a speed bump at moderate speed. It's all good, I'll get to the bottom of it.

There are better judges of e-loads on here, but that seems high. I’ve heard some stories about e-loads being super stiff, maybe the tire isn’t flexing enough on that psi? Experiment maybe?

I'll lower them and see what that does. Honestly, I can't tell if it's the tires hitting the ground or the shocks doing it

Rear suspension install done! interestingly, the ADS piggyback shocks seem to fit great on the drivers side, but where the resi faces forward on the passenger side, clearance is rather tight in a few spots. I don’t “think” it’ll be an issue but things are a bit closer than i’d like, even after adjustments.

Did you tighten the top nut all the way to the end?

I tightened it until the shock wouldn’t spin easily, i don’t think i bottomed it out though. You think it needs more torque? the factory spec is under 20 ft/lbs if I remember correctly.
