1.5" will be basically identical to iron sights cheek weld. Get a cantilever mount if you put your nose to the charging handle or find yourself close to the charging handle.

Good info! I don't touch my nose to the charging handle though.

You can figure out what mount you need if you know the eye relief of the scope and how far from your eye the back of the scope needs to be.

I agree with the viper 1-6. The mrad is MY preference but it’s hard to teach your kid something if you have to learn yourself if your not familiar with how to use that type of math. I think the industry standard for LPVO’s is the Razor 1-10, so the PST is on the lower end of middle of the road.

The industry standard is the Viper 1-8x24

The 1-10 is a $2k optic. Nothing standard about that price.

The price is not the standard but sure.

Industry standard is minimal requirements in a given industry.

The razor 1-10 and the nightforce are the fielded optics under a practical standard from the military...there are no standards for the other optics. My I think was because the nightforce has been fielded longer..thus I think. Most of us that make our living behind an optic do so behind a $2000-3000 optic.

The Nightforce is also a 1-8x24 and where is the 1-10 being fielded? Only the Nightforce and Sig optics have been officially adopted.

    What's your occupation?

PSS sniper amongst other things I contract for. I got to pay that trd pro price tag some how. And triji has an official 1-8 optic too.

It’s been fielded for awhile outside of the usual stuff and bought out of a different budget as test alternatives to replace a different blocks of sopmod and used with the Geissele sopmod approved SR-25 mount and used the same way all CQBSS styled optics are used. Which is another point, Leupold CQBSS is another 1-8 “official” scope.

I got out around that time so, and I don’t care enough to txt people to post proof, so I’d be willing to omit my statement if it matters, as pretty much all the contracts turned down the vortex for “official” adoption of the 1-6 and the 1-8. If that is the standard we want to agree on.

Still, the Nightforce 1-8 f1 is still a $2000 optic, they all are. That was the point I wanted taken away. Again to my point to the op is that the PST 1-6 is bottom middle of the road, in price, features and quality.

There must have been another one as well, as I was a civilian contractor for Lockheed and was leaving base just after it happened and was redirected to the Bayshore back gate security as that gate was shut down and found out the next day what happened.

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
If it's really just for a plinker with some glass, I have the Strike Eagle on one of mine in an Aero mount and it is more than sufficient for breaking clays on a dirt hill at 200 yards... and then breaking up the broken pieces into little bits of orange gravel.

When doing run and gun stuff it's perfect, but I found it a tiny bit high for precision work. I added some yoga mat foam to the stock and it's way better now, with no loss of shoot ability on the move.

Anyone had issues with surefeed mags? I have 6-8 of them that after 3 out of a 4 day class with roughly 1000 rounds through the collection of them have failed and consistently double feed now. They’ve been ran hard but not abused and slapping in a newer pmag I had no issues as with the surefeeds I couldn’t do an entire mag without one to two double feeds.

I have a few Surefeeds and I don’t remember having any problems out of them. Of course I didn’t shoot thousands out of them either. Pmags are the ticket, that’s all I shoot meow.
