engine cover mod

If you get up close to mine, you can see that my letters aren't that great either... But from far away, they are ok.

 

i was bored the other day so i decided to do mine at my shop.

here it is with the new intake

 

Nice! You either put on a lot more clear coat than I did or you used better stuff... So shiny!

 

is the yamaha and other decal stickers or did you use a stencil?

 

Good job! What brand paint and clear did you use? That looks like it matches the swb pretty well.

it matches so well cause i make my own paint at my body shop and i had it color coded to swb. the Yamaha decal and other is clear coated into the body which makes it so shiny.

 

how you like that trd oil cap. is it less strugle to get off than the regular one.

 

Well it looks great, but uh, it's metal, so it gets pretty hot. It's pretty easy to tighten by hand, and it makes a good seal, but it is tough to get loose by hand. The plus side is that is has a hex shape, so you can get a wrench and twist it off.

yeah i cant believe they made the oil cap like that.. i use a set of plyers every time.. and the stalk is plastic too! One day its going to break, i just know it..

 

I'll have to take a closer picture. It's really clean too.

If you end up painting the cover, make sure you use a hi-heat paint. The cover can get pretty hot.

I'm pretty sure I used a Dupli-color Hi-heat.

 

i was going to paint mine black to match my black truck lol

 

I painted mine and it came out ok. I should of taken more time when I taped it off.
