So I was in my way to class with my brother last night and we decided to take a short cut that we usually take. I was driving through the normal route when all of a sudden the passenger side of my taco sank at an almost 45° angle, with my door resting on the floor. I was stuck for about 10 minutes until a ups diesel pulled me out. I think all this california rain turned it into a sink hole like thing.

So not much water entered the truck, maybe about 2 inches since I was at an angle and water mostly accumulated towards the kick panel. But I think the airbag connections got wet since my airbag light is on.

I know I have to strip the interior but question is, would it be a good idea to use a carpet cleaning vacuum on my interior carpet and insulation?

And any good spray can products out there to dry up the wires?

    Thanks guys.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.

    ^that^

You don't know what was in that water and now it will be trapped between the carpet and cab.

Thanks guys, I plan on stripping it and laying the carpet and insulation on the floor and using the carpet cleaning vacuum to suck everything out and let it dry, I'll be driving with bare floor for a bit, if its safe to do so

Another question, is this possible to save? And can I buy new airbag connections to replace the wet ones?

im sure you could, but there would be a lot of rewiring to do-- if you find the connector under the seat, your best bet is to unplug it and let it dry-- if the damage isnt done already, once its dry you might be able to hook it back up as normal

i say this kind of from experience-- i work on medical equipment in a hospital, and got an entire power supply board for a blood warmer wet-- luckily, it was off, so no damage was done to any components-- i let it dry out overnight, came back the next day, and it worked fine

Do the roof while you're at it!! These trucks sound like little tin pieces of crap when large drops of rain or hail hits the roof.

That wasn't very much water. I'd pull the panels, disconnect any connectors I might suspect got wet, and use a hairdryer to dry them. Then leave the panels off for a week or so to allow air drying. As for the carpet and such, dry out as much as you can with towels, then leave your windows open (if you have a safe place to park it) and let it air dry. It's not that humid down there. Should be fine.
