Spoke too soon. I went out to start clearing and could feel a very light rain/sleet falling. Don't want that landing on cleared driveway, so I stopped. Rechecked the forecast and radar and it looks like we might get an inch or two more overnight anyway. So I think I shall crack open a Troeg's.

I don't know, private home on a well. They build it with brush and spray water on it and repeat. Family tradition for years, a local attraction. Around 25ft right now.

    Hi PA taco enthusiasts.

This may sound like an odd question, but does anyone know of any clean tacomas for sale? I am in the market for a new vehicle and am looking for options. I prefer standard cab, manual trans, 4x4 if possible.

Good morning fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians!!! Snowing steadily here now - between yesterday and today probably 4" total so far. Light and fluffy stuff so it will be easy to deal with.

    Happy Friday!

    Stay warm and safe.

Oh boy...this is going to over like a lead balloon...

PENNSYLVANIA, USA — A bit of a bombshell from PennDOT Thursday.

The agency is floating a plan to raise money by putting tolls on interstate highways across the Commonwealth.

Nine bridges are on the list to be tolled, and drivers here in northeastern and central Pennsylvania will not be spared.

Three of the nine bridges are in our area.

It includes the Nescopeck Bridge along Interstate 80 in Luzerne County, the Lehigh River Bridge on I-80 near the border of Luzerne and Carbon Counties, and the bridge along I-81 in Susquehanna County that stretches from New Milford to the New York border.

PennDOT says the tolls would cover the cost of much-needed repairs to the bridges as part of its major Public-Private Partnership or P3 Initiative.

"Many of these bridges, like I said, previously they were designed in the 1950s, they were built in the 1960s, they're in excess of 60 years of age, and they're coming to the end of their useful lifecycle," said PennDOT's Alternate Funding Director, Ken McClain.

Tolls would be collected through an E-ZPass or pay-by-plate option to the PA Turnpike, which would send the money to PennDOT.

The money would cover repairs and maintenance for 30 years.

"The implementation of bridge tolling ensures the users, including out-of-state traffic, that they contribute fairly to the placement or rehabilitation of the bridges based on usage," added McClain.

The nine bridge projects selected are spread out across Pennsylvania.

There will be an environmental study phase and public outreach, which would begin this spring.

If approved, the tolls would be between $1 and $2 for both directions and would begin, along with the construction, in 2023.

Sleet around me this morning, crunchy frog surface. Remember to kick into neutral for those icy descents.

Hmmm, I guess that huge gas tax that was supposed to be used for this, but got raided by the governor to pay the state police, would have covered this. Robbing Peter to pay Paul was a big red flag that few noticed. Broke ass f*cks.

I just saw the story on the local news. I think there is only one in the Pgh. area. I don't go that way hardly over, but it doesn't seem fair to target certain bridges only. If live in that area and have to take that route to work, stores, etc., then I will be paying to subsidize my ride in a way that others don't. The bridge here in question is on I-79 according to the story. Depending where you live or work you may not have a choice to avoid it. I don't like the ide myself.

I'm again it, terrible idea. Where's the casino money? Where all the tax money? Doesn't the turnpike commission give the state money? Always looking for more from us.....

What is everyone’s policy at work for COVID? If you get sick do you use your own time? Co worker gets sick they make you do anything different? Where I’m at if you get sick you must use your own sick time. When you tell the company your sick they interview you and ask you who you were with in the last 2-3 days I guess. If your name is mentioned your now considered a lone worker. Which means you can’t be by anyone for a week. But yet still come to work...and they will not tell you who is the positive person. Since we all talk we know who it is but company tries to keep it a secret.
